🧬 Spore Mod — Spawning Rewritten
The entire Spore mob spawning system has been rewritten from scratch. Due to conflicting rules buried across two thousand lines of spawn.json, a large portion of the roster was functionally impossible to spawn. That has been fixed. A couple hours of debugging later, the system works as intended. These are not common encounters. They are not supposed to be. You may go entire sessions without seeing one. That is the point. When they do show up, it means conditions aligned. Treat it accordingly.
📦 Loot Tables — First Expansion Pass
Zombies, husks and drowned now drop more. The common pool has been rebalanced. The rare pool has been tightened. Medical items from Legendary Survival Overhaul and Survival Instinct now appear on the undead at very low rates. Healing herbs are the floor. Bandages are rarer. A proper medkit is rarer still. The survival instinct bandage sits just above the enchanted golden apple in terms of probability. Do not expect to find one. This will be revisited. Spore drops, weapons and ammo are still coming in a future pass.
🎨 Main Menu — Rebuilt
The menu has been rebuilt entirely. The old one was carrying assets "borrowed" from another modpack and the file size had gotten out of hand. The new one is lighter, original, and fits the tone better. If you preferred the old menu, download the previous version and overwrite the FancyMenu folder in config with the old one. It is still there. It is just no longer the default.
🎵 Community Music Event — Main Menu Tracks
A selection of custom tracks has been added to the main menu. Some of them you will recognise immediately. Some you probably will not. If you do recognise all of them, respect. The playlist is genuinely good. If you have a track you think belongs here, drop it in the comments. It might make it into a future update. This is the first community-driven addition to the pack and it will not be the last.
⚙️ Misc Changes
The Gliders mod has been temporarily disabled due to a visual bug. It will return when the issue is resolved. The modpack icon has been updated. Why not. Small thing, but it is more fitting now.
📋 Roadmap
The roadmap has not changed. Progress continues at the same pace.
Spawning System — Third Pass — The rules are working now. Further tuning is still on the list. It is not finished. It will not be rushed.
Loot Table Expansion — Spore mob drops, weapon and ammo loot, and further medical item tuning are all coming. The foundation is there. The rest follows.
Vehicle Spawning — Still being explored. No timeline.
TACZ Gunpack Revision — The audit is coming. No specifics until it is done.
Quest System — Still planned. Still not forgotten. Still not now.
✦ A Personal Note
Sometimes this hobby feels like an addiction. Two thousand lines of JSON, hours of debugging a single enum value, a menu rebuilt from scratch because the old one had "borrowed assets". None of it was asked for. All of it got done anyway. That is probably what modding is.
If you are still here downloading updates, that means something. The pack will keep moving. Slowly sometimes. But it will move. Quitting is always an option. It just never seems to stick.
