☠ SILENT CITIES — 2.2 — When it Rains ☠
"We fixed some things. We also made other things significantly worse. Net neutral."
🌩️ The World Got Meaner
The spawn system got torn out and rebuilt from scratch. Zombies now care about where they are — dense in the city, rare out in the wilderness, and weather-driven in ways that actually make sense. Husks in the dry heat. Drowned when it rains. The city is the danger zone. Leaving it buys you time, not safety.
Thunderstorms were disabled in an earlier version for reasons that made sense at the time. Those reasons are no longer respected.
New apocalyptic structures scattered throughout the lost city world. The ruins now have things inside them that used to be something else. Don't think about it too hard.
Zombies now hunt and eat passive animals. Your horse. The cows. The sheep you were going to deal with later. They were always eating something — now you get to watch.
🩸 You Are Fragile Now (Congratulations)
Added Legendary Survival Overhaul. Wounds persist. Bleeding doesn't stop because you stood still for a second. You need to actually treat injuries before moving on, which is inconvenient when something is actively trying to eat you.
Thirst is live. The city has been abandoned for a long time and the taps don't work. Collect rainwater, find bottles, purify what you can. Dehydration does not care that you're busy.
Temperature is disabled for now. The system needed more tuning before it shipped and half-finished survival mechanics aren't fun, they're just annoying. It'll come back when it's ready.
Weaker Day Zombies is also disabled for now — daytime balance is getting looked at alongside the other survival systems in a future update.
🥩 Eat Something That Isn't Rotten
Added Diet with a custom datapack. Varied meals give you extra hearts and buffs. We're not here to punish you for eating badly — the rest of the pack does enough of that. Think of it as the one system that's actually on your side.
If your diet is whatever dropped off the last zombie, that's between you and your health bar.
⚙️ Fixes, Mods, Misc Chaos
Added Quark with a custom config. The useful bits are on. The bits that turn Silent Cities into a different modpack are off. Most of them.
Mod updates across the board — several loot tables were wrong in ways that only became obvious when people started dying to them. Fixed.
TaCZ weapon adjustments. A couple of guns were performing well enough that you stopped noticing the zombies. That's been corrected.
A death quote was being cut off mid-sentence. It had a good ending. It has that ending now.
Added Epic Death Screen. You earned it.
//There are other changes in this update. Some were forgotten. Some were deemed too minor to document. The end result is the same, the pack is different in ways you'll notice eventually.
🏹 Small Stuff That Matters
Arrows can now be recovered from the ground and from bodies. Ammo doesn't grow on trees — well, technically it does, but not fast enough. Pick everything up.
New thumbnail. Not taking questions.
"Survival systems are getting a full pass in an upcoming update. The llamas remain unaffected. You will not."
