# Shattered Meridian 0.2.0 (alpha)

New creatures for the Cradle and the first hand-made art. Needs Meridian Core 0.2.0.

## New creatures

- **Star Moths.** Small violet-and-gold moths come out over open ground on clear nights. Place an Astral Lens and they gather in circles above it. At dawn or in rain they drift up and fade away, unless you name one. They drop a little Stardust.
- **Glowcap Crawlers.** Some Glowcaps in the Starroot Caverns (below Y 0) are not what they seem. Come within 5 blocks, or hit one, and it bursts out in a puff of spores and bites. Left alone it settles back into hiding. They climb walls and drop Lumen Spores.
- Both have Codex Bestiary entries and Echoes for the Echo Chamber. Glowcap Crawlers count as Night Hunters.

## Quests

- New optional quest **Star Moths** in chapter 1 (the quest book now has 525 quests).

## Art

- Hand-made models, textures and animations replace the old box models for:
  - **Cinder Wisp:** a molten core with a flame crown and four orbiting basalt shards that flare outward when it charges.
  - **Cinderhound:** a lean hound with an ember mane, panting at rest, pouncing mid-leap.
  - **Brood Hunter:** an eyeless six-legged cave hunter whose head fans flare and jaws snap while it hunts.
  - **Cinderborn Herald (boss):** a hooded herald of living cinder with a caged-ember staff. It casts Meteor Call, and its armour cracks in phase two.
  - **Mother Lumen (boss):** a moth-like brood mother under a glowing fungal cap. She reaches when she snuffs out light, rears for her darkness breath and flinches when revealed.
  - **Dustgrazer:** a woolly lunar grazer that grazes when standing still and loses its fleece when sheared.
  - **Star Moth** and **Glowcap Crawler**, both new.
- First hand-drawn block and item textures: Meteoric Rock, Cinder Shard Ore, Block of Meteoric Iron, Glowcap, Raw Meteoric Iron, Meteoric Iron Ingot, Cinder Shard, Stardust, Echo Shard and all the Meteoric tools.

## Notes

- This is an alpha. Most other creatures, blocks and items still use placeholder art.
- Worlds from 0.1.0 carry over; Star Moths and Glowcap Crawlers start spawning in them too.
