The Shadows of Doom is an RPG class modpack focusing on combat and magic. Class system is built mostly like in Terraria. Where your class is only your weapon, trinkets and armor that you equip. Modpack is pretty challenging especially for early game.

Description

ATTENTION THIS MODPACK IS IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT STATE OF MANY UNIQUE CONTENT SOME GAME ASPECTS LIKE CERTAIN MAGIC SPELLS OR IN-GAME ITEM BUILDS MAY BE UNFORTUNANTLY BROKEN IN TERMS OF BALANCE

The Shadows of Doom is an semi-RPG modpack mostly focuses on combat, adventure/exploring, bosses and game classes. Now there is only 2 normally playable classes.

  1. Melee: Can be named as Warrior and many others classes using meele weapons which are not magic or fully ranged items like bows and magic speels dealing area damage either ranged projectiles, however spells that doesn't deal damage by themselves like melee damage modifiers (void strikes or oakskin spells are mostly sutable for a melee combat warriour more than to a mage).

  2. Mage(Sorcerer as well as other names related to magician theme are suitable of course): Uses Magic spells and magic artifact more than any other (currently the most broken class now). This class mostly depends on mod "Iron's Spells & Spellbooks", so you easily can find a guide for every skill even from addons. Currently the easiest class to try. Ranged

  3. (Archerer or even Gunslinger): Doesn't have normal progression troughout the game + there is no items like in the modpack which can visibly increase your projectile damage. This class doesn't have any armor and without enchants on your weapon it might look pretty useless in comparison to other playstiles. It is a class that can be good developed in future.

  4.  Summoner(Druid or Invoker): The least advanced and just undeveloped class by various reasons. The main problem is that summons don't increase their base damage from spells normally . You can use your tamed pets as summons but they can die accidentaly every time and you need to spent too much resources for their upgrades, yet you can't craft special armor set for this class and it's lack of damage makes it really hard to play. Because of that and overroll too bad AI enemy targeting with pathfinding I do not reccoend you to play as a "summoner".

    Some skills must be forbidden (now only by the desicion of you player). HASTE and SPECTRALL ELYTRAS with SPECTRALL HAMMER you should seriously avoid if you don't want to play with enough challenge.
    Also you should downgrade Luki's Grand Capitals mod ver from v1.1.3 1.19-1.21.11 to v1.1.2 1.19-1.21.11 because in newest version there is a vanilla Woodland Mansion. Which is a some sort of a bug.
