Something I've always felt when playing modded Minecraft is that I'm not really playing Minecraft with some extensions, but rather some form of Factorio that happens to share the graphics of one of my favorite games of all time. In addition, post-endgame Minecraft tends to become a competition on how much time one can waste on meaningless tasks. My attempt to kill two birds with one stone is this modpack.
This pack includes the typical mods for extending the Vanilla experience (Biomes 'o' Plenty, Natura, etc) to make the typical cycle of mining and crafting more fun. In addition, I include the standard automation mods (Thermal Expansion, EnderIO, Thaumcraft, etc) but use MineTweaker scripts to modify their crafting recipes to gate them behind endgame goals. For instance, you need End Stone to be able to craft the first Thermal Expansion frames. Therefore, by the time you've played Vanilla Minecraft to its fullest extent and beat the Ender Dragon, you gain the tools required to start the automation experience, and truly take Minecraft to its limits.
