Scuffed Pack was build from the ground up to encourage the design of complex cross-mod systems, whether magic or tech, and provide a balanced but straightforward modded experience that doesn't tie the player up in unnecessary detours through random progression paths.
The Philosophy:
Mods were chosen that encourage the player to build large, sprawling production facilities to fulfill of their automation dreams, but not to make it grind-y.
Examples:
Deep Resonance: Yes
The player has to spend time designing a system to manage radiation emission and production of better crystals
Electroblob's Wizardry: No
While getting better wands takes effort, there's not much complexity or thought to what spells to put into a wand. This pack is made to be about planning and executing, not pure skill and time input.
Things that fit:
Tech:
We have EnderIO, RFTools, Thermal, Mekanism, and many more! It wouldn't be a tech pack without these mods.
Magic:
Mostly Thaumcraft and Blood Magic, but Astral Sorcery can be incredibly powerful if used correctly. Need it to be nighttime to map the constellations? Use a hammock to sleep the day away!
Tweaks:
World generation and biomes have been tweaked by a number of world generation mods, like Biomes O' Plently, YUNG's cave generation, and Quark. Large dungeons now generate throughout the world that yield lots of loot and spawners. If you're looking for a quick reward, find a bounty board in a nearby village.
The Scuffed:
Who needs quests? We're not sure whether it's due to `innovative strategies to put the focus on player ingenuity™` or laziness, but there is no quest book in this pack. There is a very slight amount of crafttweaker balancing in this pack, but most of it is bare mods that just work well together. Stonelings from quark are disabled because of their ability to be used in absolutely broken farms. This pack is scuffed, but we hold ourselves to a high standard of scuffed. There also may or may not be ICBM in this pack, so make sure you'll have friends after playing multiplayer. (Tip: rtfools is useful for protecting your stuff) Performance? Hopefully. Not many mods were chosen that add ambient effects to the world, slowing it down. Some exceptions to this include biome mods, but those mostly add plain blocks anyway, which don't impact performance very much or at all. Most of the performance loss you'll see will be from the things you build, so memorize that LagGoggles hotkey. That said, there are a lot of mods in this pack, with 6GB of RAM allocation recommended, though 4 should run. If you don't know how to change Minecraft's RAM allocation, there are multiple tutorials online. Make sure they apply to the twitch launcher, or you'll have to change the RAM allocation each time you launch the game. With each version, performance should hopefully improve, and a little fiddling with your betterFPS settings couldn't hurt . . . much. :)

Extra Stuff:
This pack includes Galacticraft and its addons, which are not officially hosted on twitch. You can find the creator's website here:
Installation Guide:
1. Install the pack through the Twitch desktop app (duh)
2. RAM allocation and JVM arguments:
a. Click on your profile picture in the app, and go to the app's settings
b. Go to the "Minecraft" category in settings
c. Scroll to the bottom and find "Java Settings"
d. Depending on how much RAM your system has, allocate 6000MB of memory (recommended) or 4000MB of memory (minimum)
e. Paste the following line where it says "additional arguments"
-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
(I found these to work very well during testing, I'm not an expert at JVM arguments)
3. Optifine installation:
This is highly recommended. Curseforge itself unfortunately doesn't support Optifine in hosted packs, so you'll need to follow these steps to get the performance enhancements Optifine provides.
a. download Optifine from This Link
b. click on the Scuffed Pack icon in the modpack list, click the gear in the top right, then click "Open Folder".
c. drag the optifine .jar file you downloaded into the mods folder.
4. Additional Note:
Make sure to change your settings to get the best performance once in the game (online guides for tweaking optifine settings exist and are recommended).
