Create your game server with 
8-12gb of Ram recommended!
Place "-XX:+UseShenandoahGC" into the Additional Arguments Section in profile options for Distant Horizons garbage collection. (Helps with performance)
There a a bunch of video settings you can turn down to get more performance out of it if required. It is not recommended to play with shaders.
