SCP UNCONTAINED

Welcome to SCP UNCONTAINED, an adventure and horror Minecraft modpack inspired by the world of the SCP Foundation.

This is my first real modpack, and it was created with one main goal in mind, to build a world that feels dangerous, mysterious, and immersive while still feeling like Minecraft.

Instead of simply adding more enemies and weapons, SCP UNCONTAINED focuses on creating an experience where exploration, preparation, combat, and atmosphere all work together.

A WORLD BUILT FOR SCP

SCP UNCONTAINED is centered around the idea of anomalies existing within a larger survival world.

The SCP elements are not meant to feel completely separated from everything else.

They exist alongside the environment, structures, technology, survival systems, and other dangers of the world.

This makes encounters feel less predictable and gives exploration a greater sense of purpose.

You may spend time gathering resources, exploring a remote location, or travelling through an unfamiliar area before suddenly finding something that changes the entire situation.

The world is meant to encourage curiosity while also rewarding caution.

COMBAT

Combat focuses on modern and practical equipment rather than traditional fantasy weapons.

Firearms and improved melee mechanics provide a more grounded combat experience that fits the setting much better than a traditional medieval arsenal.

Weapons are useful tools, but they are not a guarantee of safety. Combat is intended to feel like part of the world rather than the entire purpose of the modpack.

SECURITY

Security is another major part of the experience.

Players have access to systems that allow them to build protected facilities, control access to restricted areas, monitor important locations, and create more secure environments.

This makes it possible to build bases that feel less like ordinary Minecraft houses and more like organized research or containment facilities.

You can create secure entrances, restricted rooms, surveillance areas, storage facilities, laboratories, underground sectors, and other specialized locations.

The security systems are there to support both survival and roleplay.

ATMOSPHERE

Atmosphere is one of the most important parts of SCP UNCONTAINED.

The pack uses darker environments, improved sound, enhanced footsteps, environmental audio, dynamic lighting, shaders, and other visual effects to make the world feel more immersive.

Dark areas are much less comfortable than they are in vanilla Minecraft.

Sounds can travel through spaces in a more natural way, footsteps become more noticeable, and distant noises can make otherwise empty locations feel occupied.

The goal is to make the player feel like they are actually inside an unfamiliar environment rather than simply looking at a collection of blocks.

EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY

The world generation has been expanded to create a more interesting environment to explore.

Terrain is more varied, caves are larger and more detailed, structures are more diverse, and the world contains more locations to discover.

This gives exploration a stronger identity and makes long-distance travel more rewarding.

IMMERSION

A large part of the modpack is about making everyday actions feel more grounded.

Eating, travelling, organizing equipment, communicating with other players, exploring structures, managing storage, and returning to a secure location are all designed to fit naturally into the experience.

The world is meant to feel like somewhere you could actually operate in for an extended period of time.

This is especially important for multiplayer, where players can establish a location and gradually turn it into something much larger.

MULTIPLAYER

SCP UNCONTAINED can be played alone, but multiplayer is encouraged.

Working together makes exploration easier and allows players to create more interesting scenarios.

One player can stay behind and maintain a facility while another group travels into unknown territory.

Players can organize expeditions, protect important locations, establish secure bases, and communicate directly with one another.

The pack also works well for groups that simply want to create their own SCP-inspired stories without following a strict scripted campaign.

A FIRST RELEASE

SCP UNCONTAINED is my first public Minecraft modpack.

Because of that, some issues, compatibility problems, balancing problems, or unexpected behavior may still exist.

The pack will continue to be improved over time, and feedback is extremely useful for future updates.

If you encounter a problem, reporting it with as much information as possible will make it much easier to investigate and fix.

The goal is to keep improving the experience rather than treating the first release as the finished product.
