Dr. Bright and the hard to destroy reptile would be the people who would for some reason manage to survive such a reality shift. The reptiles anomalous survival abilities would ensure it made it through, unfortunately for it it brought along its containment chamber. In the long run Bright will give you other quests outside of the book. He gets bored easily and nobody else is around to tell him what hes not allowed to do at the foundation anymore.
