Scorched Lands is a community driven tech/pvp modpack for the Scorched Guns Discord server! It's centered around the core mod Scorched Guns, and it expands on and integrate into various mods, including Create, Gateways to Eternity, and Actually Additions, as well as some custom multiblocks. It aims to encourage resource management, factory building, and combat between players and monsters.

Key features

Overhauled progression

Guns and machines are gated behind Blueprints, which are obtained by defeating combat challenges via Gateways. At first, technology and weapon choice are limited, but they open up as the player collects more blueprints. Progression is split up into 5 tiers; Survive, Thrive, Expand, Advance, and Exterminate, each corresponding with a different gameplay loop.

Custom ore distribution

All methods for generating most raw resources have been removed, and can only be renewably made through setting up custom drilling machines to gather and process ores into usable material. Only specific biomes can hold ore deposits for drilling, so players will need to either make multiple outposts or trade with others in order to facilitate their resource needs. Said biomes with ore deposits will also be more plentiful in that resource through naturally generating extra ore veins for the player to mine.

Custom claims system

Players will have limited chunk claims to start with, but they'll unlock more as they progress through the pack. "Claim tickets" can be obtained through quests and redeemed to increase the maximum amount of claims. Players will be able to claim enough space for their base as well as a few resource-generation outposts they create. However, train lines between outposts/bases will be infeasible to protect, and are vulnerable to sabotage!
