- Mobs now (should) have a small chance to drop some <span style="color:#E67E23;">Tactics</span> on kill
- Dissolved the "Fundamentals/info" section in favor of just starting us off immediately in the "<span style="color:#E03E2D;">Eradication</span>" section
- Merged "Force Field" Quests in with "Fortifications, Turrets, Reconnaissance" Quests (I may regret this and give Force Fields back their own chapter again later)
- Universal Block Reinforcer now requires a Spore part
- Villager Recruits no longer attack their fellow Villagers (why was this a thing by default anyway? lol)
- Added a few more remedies to things like bleeding and infection (one of which is just the golden apple, vanilla, because it feels like players might naturally gravitate towards that if they don't understand bandages and stuff, so I wanted to reward that), as well as some in-chat alerts informing the player on what to do when certain obscure effects are given to them.
- Made horizontal wallrun notably easier to perform now: Just hold the sprint key.
- Removed a redundant "turn rotten flesh into real food" recipe (we have like 3 already)
Emphasized with beeg text:
- We can now, OFFICIALLY, take pictures of mobs to learn about them, take notes, and complete Quests.
- (The original "document horrors" vision)
- There's still only ~6 or so entries for now, though, because I want to see how players like it before fully committing
- Also with the above change, the acronym will be going from "CSE" (Capture, Study, Eradicate) to "SCE" (Study, Capture, Eradicate) since "Studying" (taking photos with the camera) will likely be happening before Capture in most cases; though, I've allowed either to be done in any order.
- (The original "document horrors" vision)
- Made it so <span style="color:#FFFFFF;">Market</span> <span style="color:#E67E23;">Tactics</span> will ALSO be locked until the "main" (XP/insta-purchase) <span style="color:#E67E23;">Tactics</span> are unlocked (via SCE Quests) now.
- It never made too-too much sense to be able to buy cutting-edge tech that requires Studying and Bio Samples... before Studies and Bio Samples had been garnered, lol
- Updated Create Steam & Rails, and probably some other mods.
Fairly huge:
- Major change to how Hordes work now: Every 50 hostile mob kills (with some weird, accidental exceptions, I'm sure), a Horde will summon.
- This makes it so Hordes are no longer awkwardly lumped in with the Horror mechanic (time/sleeping), and makes their activation more engaging: Killing things summons them; don't want to summon them? Bunker down and/or stop killing things!
- Kills during the horde event (about 3.33 minutes) won't count towards the next horde. This is to prevent feedback loops
- This makes it so Hordes are no longer awkwardly lumped in with the Horror mechanic (time/sleeping), and makes their activation more engaging: Killing things summons them; don't want to summon them? Bunker down and/or stop killing things!
Finally got around to adding a chat tip about the various warring factions in the cities and elsewhere
Attempted to fix the Tactics Tracker HUD not tracking each player individually & spamming chat for newer players
Updated tutorial "SCE" Quest to reflect the new photography system (as well as the other existing SCE Quests)
Added 40mm Grenades to the ammo conversion code
Fixed an ammo duplication bug
Added an "Ammo Conversion" tutorial, so we know how to.. do ammo conversion, lul. (Convert one ammo type to another ammo type for a different gun/mod)
We finally just SPAWN with a backpack IN our back slot; not taking up our chestplate slot or an inventory slot. Same with Tool Belt
Gave us a bit of a clearer "call to action" so players know to try the main gameplay loop, and not just think the game has no direction
We now just start with more of the essential stuff, like the Structure Compass. No more wasting time getting to a basic gameplay loop: Exploring.
