a retro mod that aims to emulate the glory days of minecraft without getting rid of too many modern day features. based around the idea of "what if minecraft was made 5 years earlier?"

this mod runs on 1.21.1 because it is the version where all the mods line up for fabric.

iris and sodium are included for performance.
nostalgic tweaks for various old features
golden days base for old textures and vibes
ninjamike1211's psx mcsx shader for general vibes (make sure to configure it to your liking)
controllable for controller support if you're going for more of a console feel
the aether mod is for a pinch of extra retro nostalgia
from the fog for a twinge of creepines
dynamic lights as the psx shader makes caves super dark (torch in offhand recomended)
plamso voice and soundboard for proximity chat options
vanilla backport for all the new features
farlands reborn just to add the farlands back because why not
moderner for old terrain generation option

this was mainly made for myself and for my friends to play together and added to curseforge for convivence. also i would 100% recommend using the amplified world style it is so underrated, fits the vibe perfectly, and is what i use in most of the screenshots i've taken (in the images tab)

PLEASE RUN THIS MOD AT 1600 x 1200 RESOLUTION.

if the shader settings get reset:

remember to turn off billboarding, and in post-processing settings turn on crt blur, crt scanlines, and turn the resolution scale to 0.2. the resolution scale allows for minecraft to render at 240p, which was the standard for most games around then. or do whatever thats just how you make it look like these screenshots. feel free to mess around.
