Just a bunch of my favorite mods for beginners.
On the tech side there's thermal, IC2 and immersive engineering, along with a couple different power production mods like nuclearcraft and advanced generators.
for magic there's thaumcraft, astral sorcery, and botania.
a bunch of quality of life mods like inventory tweaks.
and then some utilities mode like ExtraUtils2, enderchests, and chunkloaders.
