“RpgNow” — a balanced adventure pack with optional RPG progression
In this hypothetical simulation, RpgNow is designed as a mid-weight pack where RPG mechanics exist but stay in the background. The main loop is exploration, dungeon crawling, and building with Create; class-based combat and skill trees are present but not mandatory. Players can either lean into the RPG layer or mostly ignore it and focus on tech, structures, and world discovery.
Core gameplay loop
- Exploration and structures. Dungeons and Taverns (including all its overhauls: Ancient City, Desert Temple, Jungle Temple, Nether Fortress, Pillager Outpost, Stronghold, Swamp Hut, Woodland Mansion) sets the pacing: each biome and dimension has revamped dungeons with themed loot and progression gates. Biomes O’ Plenty (with TerraBlender) expands variety and adds natural challenges.
- Tech and building. Create, Create Aeronautics, Create Deco, and Create Jetpack provide a clear mechanical direction: automation, transport, and decorative building. This replaces the “busywork” utility mods and gives the pack a cohesive tech identity.
- Optional RPG progression. Wizards, Paladins & Priests, Rogues & Warriors, Berserker, and related attribute/engine mods (Spell Engine, Spell Power Attribute, RangedWeaponAPI, ShieldAPI) are included but tuned to be non-intrusive. You can craft gear and use spells without being forced into a skill tree or complex class system.
- Bosses and high-tier threats. Mowzie’s Mobs and Ice And Fire Community Edition (dragons) serve as optional endgame content. They’re strong enough to feel like proper challenges but not required to enjoy the pack.
Comfort, immersion, and downtime
- Fishing and leisure. Starcatcher and Starcatcher’s Delight offer a relaxed downtime activity that ties into food and small rewards.
- Economy. wd’s Selling Bin provides a simple trading mechanic without a full economy overhaul.
- Character presentation. SimpleHats, Continuity (animated textures), and Player Animator improve third-person visuals without affecting combat balance.
- Food and feedback. AppleSkin gives clear hunger/saturation info; Kaleidoscope mods (ChineseFood, Cookery, ImmersiveEating, Tavern, etc.) add variety to cooking and eating without heavy recipe overhauls.
Navigation, UI, and discovery
- Maps and minimap. Xaero’s Minimap and World Map are the primary navigation tools.
- Recipe lookup. Just Enough Items for fast recipe checks.
- UI polish. Fancy Tab Sections and Simply Tooltips make the interface cleaner and more intuitive.
- Voice comms. Simple Voice Chat for multiplayer coordination.
Technical backbone
- Rendering and performance. Sodium as the core render engine, Iris for shaders, Ferrite Core for memory management.
- Configuration and compatibility. Cloth Config v15 API, Fzzy Config, MezzConfig, BundleAPI, and Forgified Fabric API handle config and cross-layer integration. Sinytra Connector bridges Fabric-style mods with NeoForge.
- Libraries and animation. GeckoLib 4 powers animated models; Architectury, Armor Model API, Curios API, and Kotlin for Forge provide shared infrastructure.
- Misc. No LAN Cheating for local-server integrity, oωo as a small utility.
