Hexxit has always been my favorite modpack, I love RPGs. I have probably spent twice as much time playing RPGs than all other genres combined. Hexxit scratched a lot of those itches, and I wanted RPG-Craft Light to have the same feeling. I've used a lot of the same mods as Hexxit, but since the mods are two years newer they tend to work better. RCL contains 61 mods, and 23 server plugins, designed to improve the vanilla UI, add utility, improve performance, and provide a more RPG-like Minecraft experience. There are no science, computer, or technology mods.

When I sat down to put this together I wanted to try and fix Hexxit's two main issues (in my opinion ofc).

One. It's incredibly old, players of modern Minecraft would feel like they had features taken away.

Two, it's resource intensive. I see lower than normal fps while running Hexxit, and it's very strainful on my server (2 core 17g ram) The entire mod directory of RCL is 18MB, that's about half the size of Hexxit's directory, even though Hexxit has 13 more mods. It runs faster on my familiy's computers and it should on yours too.

RCL has a lot less recipes than Hexxit, that was intentional, even with NEI I feel like the amount of options in Hexxit was too much for me. The villages are bigger and better than vanilla, and there are multiple mods that create PVE structures like dungeons. I hope you're ready to craft some truly epic armor and descend into the depths to battle for treasure. Where I could I used rpglike mechanisms. You will notice the familiar NEI that's in most modpacks is missing. Instead we're using craftguide, and you have to build the guide to use it.

I wanted to recreate the feeling that a Hexxit server gives you, a world of mystery and magic. I've tried to pick mods that blend together into a cohesive game world. There are new dangers, and new rewards. Go forth and conquer!!
