why?

Optimization mods for Fabric scale really well with large modpacks, meaning that gameplay stays relatively smooth regardless of modpack size.

Forge doesn't have this luxury. FPS often tanks when using more than 75 or so mods. The few optimization packs that exist for Forge aren't as good at mitigating this as the ones on Fabric.

When putting together modpacks, I often build on top of pre-existing optimization modlists. Robin surpasses comparable Forge options and can consistently match—and sometimes even outperform—Fabric's performance packs, whether running without any mods or with over 250.
