What's new

Risen — Undead Army 2.12.73 → 2.12.73+1 — changelog

Second-pass release on 2.12.73. Main reason to update: closes a Zombie Village economy exploit in the previously-shipped ZV build. Also bumps NeoForge one point release and folds in 25 third-party mod updates that accumulated during August.

Reason to update: netherite recycling exploit — CLOSED

Zombie Village 4.57.328 → 4.57.331 (fileId 8620672 → 8726296)

Zombie Village recycling in the 2.12.73 pack returned 2 netherite ingots for a netherite tool whose smithing upgrade consumes only 1. A net gain every cycle: farmable ingots for anyone with a diamond tool. 4.57.331 reads the actual smithing recipe, so recycling an upgrade is break-even at best.

Other ZV changes that ride along (all shipped since the 2.12.73 pack was cut):

  • Recycling coverage widened. Shields, tridents, maces, shears, fishing rods, flint and steel, brushes and elytra are all recyclable now, along with any modded item that carries a durability bar. Coverage is decided by durability, not by item class, so nothing goes missing when a mod ships equipment shaped a new way.
  • Nothing is silently unrecyclable. Items whose class doesn't match a specific profession's workstation now fall through to the Smithing Table instead of doing nothing.
  • Elytra return 1 phantom membrane (their repair material) — they have no crafting recipe so previously returned nothing.
  • Recycling now awards experience. Scales with source dimension (End > Nether > Overworld), configurable through new zombievillage:zone/* tags. Ordinary craftable gear still pays materials only; the XP is the reward for rare or loot-only items whose raw materials can't represent what they're worth.
  • Zone-tagged items are protected from the automatic chest drain. They can still be recycled by a deliberate sneak-click, but a hopper-style background drain will not consume them without confirmation.
  • Iron/gold/diamond horse armour returned the wrong material in some cases (nuggets instead of ingots) — corrected.

ZV-Houses 1.1.8 → 1.1.9

Security tightening. /zvhouses buildtest now requires permission level 4 (server console, RCON, or an owner-tier operator). It's a testing command, so command blocks and datapack functions — which run at permission level 2 — can no longer trigger it. /zvhouses build is unchanged. Operators on a default server setup are unaffected; op-permission-level defaults to 4.

No blueprint, template or block changes. Nothing in a save file is affected.

NeoForge 21.1.244 → 21.1.248

Point release of the loader itself. No mod-side changes needed.

Configs

Simply Swords picked up two new config files (compatibility.toml, gui.toml) from its own update — shipped with defaults; no player action needed.

Ten config .bak files also rode along in overrides/config/ (NeoForge auto-generates these as backups when a mod's config schema changes: legendary_monsters, moonlight, sophisticatedbackpacks, spells_and_spellcrafting, supplementaries, waystones). Harmless but bloats the pack — safe to delete from the source overrides/config/ before the next release if you want to trim.

Migration notes

Existing worlds carry over automatically; nothing to reset. No balance-changing values in the ZV update beyond the netherite yield correction — anyone who kept a stockpile of illicit netherite from the 2.12.73 exploit gets to keep it, but the cycle no longer nets gain.
