Q: Can I manually install Optifine?
A: Yes, BUT this can cause a lot of bug and crashes. Also, Sodium is already install and offer better performance than Optifine while keeping all the functionalities.

Q: Where I can find all the new crafting recipes?
A: When you open your inventory you have a menu on the right showing all the items from all mods.
When you have a item in your inventory can press "R" to get how to craft it, and "U" for everthing you can craft with it.

Q: Where can I find more detailed documentation of each mod?
A: There is a list of wiki/tutorial on every major mod.
