Redneck Rangers SMP is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack that combines technology, magic, exploration, combat, farming, building and automation into one open-ended experience. With approximately 150+ mods and supporting libraries, it provides plenty to explore without reaching the size of massive kitchen-sink packs.

The pack is designed for both multiplayer servers and single-player gameplay, allowing everyone to pursue their preferred style of progression.

Recommended RAM allocation: 6 GB
Players using shaders or high-resolution resource packs may benefit from 8 GB.

Core Features

Technology and automation are major parts of Redneck Rangers. Create, Mekanism and the Thermal Series allow players to build machines, generate power, process resources and construct complete automated factories.

Create’s addon collection expands this further with trains, automated enchanting, food processing and Create-powered space exploration through Create: Creating Space. Players can begin with simple mechanical machines and eventually develop large production networks and advanced technology.

Magic provides a completely different progression path. Ars Nouveau allows players to design custom spells and magical machines, while Ars Creo connects magic with Create automation. Blood Magic introduces rituals, altars and life essence, while Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks focuses on magical combat. ProjectE provides powerful late-game transmutation and resource management.

Combat and Exploration

Redneck Rangers expands the world with new creatures, caves, dungeons and dimensions.

Better Combat improves weapon handling, while Alex’s Mobs, Alex’s Caves, Mutant Monsters and Mutant More introduce new enemies and challenges. Dimensional Dungeons provide dangerous locations filled with combat encounters and valuable loot.

Relics, Artifacts, Inventory Pets and Nameless Trinkets give players useful equipment and abilities to discover. Clay Soldiers Reborn also lets players create, equip and battle miniature armies.

Building and Progression

Create, Tinkers’ Construct, Silent Gear and Building Gadgets give players greater control over how they build and equip themselves. Players can create specialized tools, custom weapons, mechanical structures, secure bases and large automated facilities.

Progression is supported by a custom FTB Quests book containing 8 chapters, 66 quests and 94 tasks. The questbook introduces the pack’s major systems without forcing everyone down the same path.

Players can choose to:

Farming and Resource Production

Mystical Agriculture, Productive Bees, Productive Trees and Farming for Blockheads provide several ways to produce renewable resources.

Cooking for Blockheads and the Let’s Do collection expand farming, cooking, food production and decoration. These systems can be combined with Create and other technology mods to build fully automated farms and processing facilities.

Quality of Life and Multiplayer

JEI and Jade make recipes and machines easier to understand, while Xaero’s Minimap, Xaero’s World Map and Waystones improve navigation.

Sophisticated Backpacks, Sophisticated Storage, Tom’s Simple Storage and inventory-management tools help organize large collections of items. FTB Teams and FTB Chunks provide shared progression, land claiming and chunk management, while Simple Voice Chat supports communication between players.

Performance

ModernFix, FerriteCore, Embeddium, Entity Culling and optimized chunk-handling mods help improve performance and memory usage.

Redneck Rangers is designed to remain more approachable than much larger modpacks while still offering long-term technology, magic, building, exploration and multiplayer progression.
