Gameplay:
Gameplay: This thrilling and exciting modpack combines intense gameplay with options for more casual play, catering to both hardcore gamers and those looking for a casual yet scary experience. It features horror creatures and elements, hundreds of challenging new mobs (including powerful variants and mutants equipped with armor and tools), advanced AI for all hostile and even friendly entities, new and powerful magic, innovative combat mechanics, over 100 unique and formidable bosses, and a vast array of new structures, dungeons, and dimensions! Also, there is an option for Multiplayer (seen below), because everything is better with friends! The best part is that this is just the beginning! After a year of development, this project is still evolving and improving daily!
Current Progress: Part 1 is essentially complete. Once update "v1.Completed" (along with any bug fixes for that update) is released, development for Part 1 Rebirth and Part 2 will be focused on. The Part 1 Rebirth update will serve to clean up a few things and allow the connection to Part 2 in the DLC to be a lot cleaner and smoother. The BIGGEST reason a rebirth even needs to happen is due to the mod "The Starved Stalker" completely taking over the Nether. This takeover overrides certain biomes and structures I need to spawn for Part 2. Removing it from an already-made world causes the Nether to be almost unplayable. This update will serve to fix issues such as those and allow for continuous gameplay while you complete Part 1 and begin the quests for Part 2. This update is a LONG way away from being completed and will most likely drop a month or 2 before Part 2 is fully complete (so a VERY LONG time from now). Other than that, I'm working on other "DLC" (Part) bosses/content and the licensing for the Scary Music add-on. Future updates to the modpack will include these finishes and/or fixes to glitches and bugs!
Story:
Lore: Over a century ago, the White-Eyed Demon enacted his plan to take over every dimension including the Overworld. He waged many wars, conquered many worlds, and terrorized many dimensions with nightmarish creatures and even a weaponized plague that wiped out a lot of life in the Overworld. A prophecy was foretold that the Chosen would rise to defeat this demon, yet at the time, no one was able to stand in his way. The Overworld, like many of the other dimensions, fell. A century passes and some human hybrid is born. These hybrids have the abilities of certain mobs and the potential to use ancient magic and grow powerful. These were the Chosen ones foretold many centuries ago, and you were one of these Hybrids. The Villagers hid you and trained you in secret while the terror spread throughout the land. Many Hybrids were killed before they ever reached adulthood. You and a few others managed to stay hidden until you were finally ready to fight back against the demon. Now is the time! Gather resources and begin your mission to free the dimensions and end the White-Eyed Demon's rule!
Modpack: Each game (modpack) is an "Era" in an overarching story. All the modpacks' names will be Prophecy along with their informal "Fog" name while the Era name will appear in the title screen (this naming scheme may change). Each Era has multiple parts (shooting for at least 3 in each, which may change) and each part has its own chapters and story elements. Overall each era (modpack) will connect to tell a massive story taking place over centuries with the main and side stories happening in between! The PvP Server Element is the main PvP mechanic I will be using for my PvP servers, they aren't "Parts" of the story but they do have mechanics within the modpack. This is the layout of how I want to do everything in the exact order of the story (meaning the first game is the first modpack to take place in the story)-
Prophecy: Before the Fog (Era of Shadows)
- Part 1: Ancient Powers [Not Released]
- Part 2: Whispers of Shadows
- Part 3: The Invasion
+ PvP Server Element: XP Hearts
Prophecy: Plague of the Fog (Era of Damnation)
- Only Part: Wither Outbreak [Not Released]
+ Only Chapter: Forsaken...
Prophecy: Fear the Fog (Era of Insurrection)
- Part 1: Chosen's Arrival [Current Release]
- Part 2: Dark Revolutions [In Development]
- Part 3: Subterfuge
- Part 4: Armageddon
+ PvP Server Element: LifeSteal
Prophecy: After the Fog (Era of Finality)
- Part 1: Shattered Dimensions [Not Released]
- Part 2: Cosmic Evolution
- Part 3: The Final Calamity
- Part Epilogue: Eternal Peace (Story Chapters, maybe a few gameplay changes)
I do have plans to complete all of these, however, due to being in college and working full-time, these parts and modpacks may take some time. If any modpack project or part gets canceled, it will be updated here. I will try my best to update these to be as accurate as I can. For Fear the Fog, Parts 1 and 2 will take place on update 1.19.2 while Parts 2 and 4 will take place on 1.20.1 or higher (depending on what mods are available for Minecraft versions when development starts)
- Updating Modpacks + Definitions, Worlds/Progress Backups, and Server Pack Download-
Updating Modpacks: Right-click the profile you want to update in Curseforge (or go to the 3 dots next to play when inside and viewing the modpack). First, make sure content management is OFF in profile options (by default this is OFF unless you were doing what I said to allow for multiplayer). Once off and inside the modpack where you can see the list of mods, click the 3 dots near the top right next to "PLAY". Click "Change Version" and change the version to the latest release without having the "update to a separate modpack profile" box checked. This will update the modpack to the updated version without causing you to lose progress in your worlds (unless changing to a different Minecraft update version like from 1.19.2 to 1.20.1). However, if you are worried about losing that data, you can back up your worlds and/or modpack just in case.
Update version meanings/definitions-
- DLC/Part Update (Example: v1.00 to v2.00) = MASSIVE content updates. These will contain massive additions and changes which include many new story chapters, gameplay elements/mechanics, and so much more! These will add a LOT to the modpack. As of now, these are reserved for future Parts/DLC!
- Big Update (Example: v1.03 jumps to v1.10) = BIG content updates which include a lot of new quests, new mods, possibly new side or even main chapters. While they may add a lot of content (sometimes upwards of 10 big mods). They are nowhere near even close to DLC/Part Updates in terms of content additions and scale!
- Small Update (Example: v1.00 to v1.01 to v1.02 ... v1.13 ... v.1.88) = Bug fixes and updates to mods for better performance, integrations, and functionality. May contain slight changes to gameplay, minor content additions, and mod updates!
Worlds/Progress Backups: To back up your worlds, all you need to do is simply check the box "update to a separate modpack profile" when updating the modpack. This keeps a backup of your old modpack with your world while making a new modpack profile with the updated version! If you do the backup creating these 2 modpacks, just know that your world/data will most likely not be copied into the new updated modpack profile. What you need to do is go into the old Minecraft profile's folders, copy the "saves" folder, then go into the new updated profiles folders, delete the new profile's "saves" folder, and paste the "saves" folder you copied from your old modpack profile into the new updated modpack's profile. This should copy the world, data, and progress into the new modpack!
Downloading the Server Pack: Right-click the profile you want to update in Curseforge (or go to the icon right next to the "Play" button labeled "Download Server Pack".). Hit the option "Download Server Pack". It is VERY IMPORTANT that you download the latest version for both the server pack AND the corresponding modpack version. This is to ensure stability and make sure no crashes happen. Whatever bugs I fix in the modpack, I also fix and reupload into the server pack! So make sure to download the same versions for both! If you want to play older versions of the modpack on the server, make sure you use the correct server pack version for that too!
- Notes/Warnings (Very Important, please read before playing)-
These are updated as needed...
- Warning- Apollyon (Mod): Outside of my modpack there is a possible glitch that "The Damned" is spawning too much. I did NOT see this happen during any testing but it is a known possible bug of this specific mod. If you see it spawning more than 3 at a time constantly, please report it to me by leaving a comment on the modpack so I may work on a possible fix. Currently, most people are downgrading from the current beta patch to the previous release version, so try that first. If enough people experience this issue, I will change it for the entire modpack. And I will repeat, this issue did not occur during my many hours of testing but updates and changes are always occurring and you never know what may end up causing bugs! This mod is needed for Chapter 3!
- Note- The One Who Watches (Mod): By default, this mod is on. If you want to turn it off due to how much it adds on top of everything else, feel free to do so. All it does is add some extra psychological horror. There are no quests or anything associated with it.
- Note- In-Game Settings: After you load up the game and join a world, PLEASE go through your in-game settings to get the most performance you can. I would recommend having at least 120 FPS. If you are playing solo, FPS doesn't really matter, but do what you want to have an enjoyable gaming experience! I would recommend the Complementary + Euphoria Patch Shaders (if you have older software). These have the most optimizations and impact FPS less than the others! If you want a fear-inducing experience, use Hysteria Shaders!
- Note- Memory (RAM) Settings: Please go to settings in Curseforge, go to Minecraft game-specific settings, scroll down to Java settings, and turn allocated memory to 8128MB (8 GB) if you have at least 16GB of RAM on your PC. If you have 32GB of RAM, allocate at least 8 to 16 GB. You don't need to allocate any more memory than this. 8 GB is the recommended RAM for this modpack!
- Note- PC Settings Glitch: This is an EXTREMELY RARE glitch! If you are experiencing model gaps or lines in between blocks, that is a MINECRAFT issue related to PC settings. Go to Nvidia Control Panel, go to manage 3D settings, and turn "Antialiasing - Setting" and "Anisotropic filtering" to Application Controlled. Fully restart the game and the problem should be fixed. Again, this is a MINECRAFT issue that some PCs may run into. There's a higher chance of it occurring in bigger modpacks.
- Note- PLEASE READ EVERYTHING IN THE TUTORIAL AND QUESTS! I know it is a lot but everything I've written down is extremely useful since there is so much in this modpack! I would suggest reading the tutorial at night blocked off and locked into your base where you will be safe. Trust me, reading helps :)
- Solo Play & Shaders + Multiplayer & How to turn mods on/off-
Solo Play & Shaders: When playing solo, I would recommend using the Hysteria Shaders to get a good feel of the atmosphere the modpack was made for (if your PC can handle it). But if playing on my PvP server or playing multiplayer using Essential, I would recommend not using any shaders for the best performance and less lag. Also if playing solo, maybe turn the fog particles on and/or reduce render distance to further increase the scare factor! Also, some mobs don't render correctly with shaders. For now, I believe it's only 1 or 2 of the DLC bosses that haven't been added yet but I'm sure there may be a few others.
Multiplayer & How to turn it and other mods on/off: To play with other people without getting a server, there are a few things ALL players need to do. First, right-click the modpack and go to profile options. Then, enable content management then hit done. Next in the "mods" section of the modpack, turn off the mods Fancy Menu, Drippy Loading Screen, and Luna (not Lunar), and turn on the mod Essential! When you load the game up, essentially (see what I did there lol) you will be adding people by their names and inviting them to your world. If you need a tutorial on this, look up a guide or watch a YouTube video. When you want to go back to a solo experience, turn off essential and turn the other 3 mods back on. Then turn content management off in the profile options. Having this option off allows you to check if the modpack has an update to it (the "change version" option) when clicking the 3 dots inside the modpack. Also, PLEASE, whenever you turn essential on or off, GO THROUGH YOUR KEYBINDS. It resets the keybinds for essential (nothing else) which can cause problems doing your intended actions. It's annoying I know, but it's only when you switch essentials from off to on. It's only the essential key binds, nothing else! You can use the same method to turn other mods off
This modpack is mainly for the PvP server I am making. I was asked to publish this for a solo experience and easier downloads for my server, which is what I am doing here! I will give/have given credit to the inspirations and stuff I used to make this modpack. Please make sure to check out all the mods and resource/data packs used in this modpack. A lot of them deserve more usage and views! Some of the pictures I used in the modpack were found on Google and wherever I could I gave credit to the original creators. But obviously, the creators of the photos and pictures deserve a lot of love too! This modpack was inspired by Fear Nightfall (almost 2 years ago) and made by Luna Pixel Studios so please make sure to download their amazing content too. I am working on the licensing for the "Scary Music" resource add-on they have and that will come very soon. I may need to remove it and/or publish my version with my own purchased licensing if needed.
Known (Unsolvable) Issues:

Future Plans:
- Testing out mods that are currently turned off for future "Parts" of DLC content.
- Developing a mod for the future Parts to help integrate a few things (DLC)
- Getting custom resources for certain things and stuff in quests
WIPs:
- Licensing for the "Scary Music" add-on. I already purchased the licensing for the songs plus a few new ones but I am working on putting them into a data pack along with some other cool features and things!
