Description

Project Islands: Sky Bound
Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge
Survive in a sky-world where the overworld is void and floating islands — not an endless flat map. Build bases on drifting landmasses, follow FTB Quests from your first day, grow into skills and spells, tame mythical mounts, and zip between peaks with harpoons and ropes. Made for solo play and friends on the same world.
What you’ll do
- Explore — each island is its own patch of terrain and biome; Biomes O’ Plenty adds variety as you travel.
- Progress — quest chapters walk you through the pack; unlock the RPG branch (Skill Tree, Spell Engine, class-style mods) as you advance.
- Fight & loot — dungeons and structures on island tops; Lootr gives your own chest loot in multiplayer (no fighting over one inventory).
- Travel — Waystones, maps, and rope surfing between anchors; optional shader-friendly visuals on the client.
- Look up — islands can show dramatic root-like undersides under the main mass (part of the Project Island world mod).
Good to know before you start
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 |
| Mod loader | NeoForge (install what the launcher offers for this pack) |
| RAM | Start around 6–8 GB for the client; add more if you use shaders or a large render distance |
| Quest book | Open FTB Quests on first join — the pack ships the chapters; update the pack if the book looks empty |
Stay on the pack version: don’t update individual mods in the launcher unless you know what you’re doing — mismatched versions are the usual cause of “can’t join server” errors.
Install (players)
- Install Project Islands Sky Bound in the CurseForge App (or any launcher that supports this pack) for 1.21.1 + NeoForge.
- Create a world or join a server — you spawn into the floating-island overworld.
- Open the Quests book and start the Project Island chapter.
Playing with friends (hosts)
- On this project’s Files tab, pick the same version as your players.
- Download the Additional file:
projectisland-modpack-<version>-curseforge-server.zip(not the main client zip). - Set up a NeoForge 1.21.1 dedicated server and merge the zip like a normal modpack server install.
- Everyone must use the matching client pack version.
Can’t connect / “channel missing”? The server needs the Project Island mod (and the same pack version as clients). Use the official server zip for that release so mods match.
Some mods may need to be installed manually on the server — check SERVER_README.md inside the server zip if the host doc mentions extra JARs.
