Project Epsilon 1.16.4
Project Epsilon is a 1.16.4 pack that aims to achieve, above all else, balance in progression and end game.
The pack is secondly an adventure/MMO pack, with skill-based progression centered around exploring and adventuring, with genuinely difficult gameplay as you progress, although not unfair. This pack is also extremely configurable.
Project Epsilon is balanced around the lack of machines or energy, with the most efficient means of obtaining resources being either by hand or through Minecolonies, which by default you are required to progress in order to unlock some of the dimensions. Various different tweaks have been made to improve the user experience, with a beautiful new worldgen, Biomes O' Plenty, and optifine/shaders compatibility if you so desire.
GAMEPLAY
You'll notice as you spawn in, aside from the beautiful scenery, that you cannot use certain tools. You need to level up skills in order to use tools, with higher levels required for better tools. When you enter the Nether, and eventually the End, the difficulty of the game will increase dramatically, so you need to obtain some higher level gear in order to survive.
When you do eventually make it to the end (which is an entirely new feat, with an all new castle which replaces the stronghold, with several different eyes needed to complete the portal), you'll find that upon defeating the ender dragon and entering the outer end, that everything is different. A whole new end with ores, biomes, mobs, and much more awaits!
Building a thriving Minecolony is a part of the End game, as creating a fully functioning, resource producing colony is required to reach one of the 3 dimensions this modpack adds, which is rare for a balanced 1.16.4 pack.
Watch out for incredibly dangerous creatures in the overworld, such as deathworms, sea serpents, and dragons, which have all been adjusted to fit the balance of this pack. There is no one specific item/weapon/tool that is hands-down the best, which extends the end game as the player experiments with different sets and different enchantments.
Overall, this pack is meant to be an extension of the vanilla experience, not a replacement.
