This is the biggest update yet, and likely the final mandatory content update for Modded Expansion before work on 1.21 support begins! Lots of new features have been added to improve the building and aesthetic experience. Modded Expansion is also finally on CurseForge!

Quality of Life Changes
Added the following:

  • Ability for Shulker Boxes to be opened in your inventory by right clicking. [SHIFT] + RMB to place.
  • New dyes, which can be used to create new Shulker Box colors and more!
  • Lots of new copycat variants, including a vertical slab!
  • Local caching to make remove maximum the render distance limit on servers.
  • Reach-around placement (like in Bedrock!).
  • Ability to merge goggles and helmet into one item.
  • The golden hopper and UPWARDS HOPPER.
  • Trimmable tools.
  • New QOL Create components and decorational blocks.
  • Improved Trident behavior.
  • Experimental custom Discord RPC for Modded Expansion.
  • Shulkers now respawn!
  • World Map zoom-out limit has been removed.
  • /instantgroup.
  • Sleeping bags and hammocks for skipping the night on the go.

New Content
Added the following:

  • In-game photography system.
  • New world generation for more scenic vistas.
  • New Create-themed decorative blocks.
  • Storage Drawers in a limited capacity.
  • Distant Horizons— see dozens of chunks all at once!
  • Ability to upload custom paintings.
  • All new buildings blocks, home furnishing decoration, and more!

Balancing Changes

  • The End Dimension has been unlocked.
  • Elytra are now obtainable.
  • Item Vault capacity has been increased to 32 stacks per block.
  • Upgrades to storage drawers have been limited.
  • Tarnished Crown can now be placed in the head slot.

Breaking Changes

  • Argonauts has been removed in favor of native OPAC guilds.
  • Usable Product has been removed to allow uploads to CurseForge.

Bug Fixes and Changes

  • Server-side optimizations.
  • Chocolate and Honey cake slices are now craftable.
  • Fixed an issue where Modrinth override mods were also included in the CurseForge release.

Known Issues

  • Server-side LOD generation is not yet implemented.
