I was making a modpack for my group of friends, and one person wanted to play with several specific magic mods, while the other wanted some tech mods. So I said, "Why not both?" And here we are...
This 1.12.2 modpack was built around having something for everyone, without having everything ever. There is a variety of magic, tech, decoration, utility and convenience mods, along with a few more that compliment those. The goal is to have a flavorful world to explore in a user-friendly manner, while still retaining a sense of progression through construction.
Magic? Botania provides a staple for magic mods but remains one of the best looking mods available. There is a wide variety of magic themes available. Botania provides lovely flower based magic, while Embers, Roots, and Astral Sorcery are present to give dwarven, druidic or astrologian style magic a chance! If you are into math and light programming, Psi is available as well!
How about Tech? Immersive Engineering and Thermal Expansion are the leaders here, with Deep Resonance and Refined Storage as support for them. Forestry is also included, primarily because beeeeeeeeees!
A wide variety of decorative and aesthetic focused mods such as ArchitectureCraft, FairyLights, and Terraqueous pave the way to building glorious structures.
Finally, utility and convenience. Akashic Tome and Morph-o-Tool are available so you can take your 54 wrenches and 49 hammers and 56 wands and combine them into one tool! The same for your 156 in-game mod guides! Fullscreen Windowed mode, automatic backups, gravestones, healthbars and properly connected Nether portals are also included.
