Pixelmon Prime-4.12
What's new
The Assayer arrives, and your Pokémon take real damage now
The Assayer
Extra loot is no longer dead weight. Meet The Assayer: hand him a stack of one loot tier and he hands back one random item of the tier above.
| You give | You get |
|---|---|
| 5 Common | 1 Rare |
| 10 Rare | 1 Epic |
| 15 Epic | 1 Legendary |
| 20 Legendary | 1 Sell Wand |
| 25 Sell Wands | 1 Fabled item or Anomaly Scroll |
| 30 Fabled / Scrolls | 1 Chroma Prism |
How it works:
- Find The Assayer at spawn and right-click him.
- He reads straight from your inventory. Nothing changes hands until you confirm, so nothing can be lost when you close the menu.
- Click a trade once to see the quote, click it again to confirm.
- Guardian Eggs count at their own rarity. Anomalous eggs do not count.
- Only unused Sell Wands count toward a trade.
The tiers follow the drop odds, so trading up is always trading rarer. The item you get back is rolled from the full pool of that tier.
Thanks to Tbag for the idea.
Hostile mobs versus your Pokémon
Your Pokémon out in the world were shrugging off hostiles. That is over.
A hostile's hit on your roaming Pokémon now costs it the same share of its health that a trainer in full end-game armor would lose to that exact blow. Same mob, same swing, same fraction of the bar.
What that means in practice:
- Bulk is worth exactly what it says. A 500-HP Pokémon survives twice the hits of a 250-HP one. No hidden discounts, no curves.
- Heavy hitters hit heavy. A Ravager, an Elite, a Dreadborn, a Warden: what they would take off you, they take off your Pokémon, scaled to its health.
- Bosses keep their per-hit ceiling on Pokémon. A boss still cannot one-shot your partner.
- No blow can land on your Pokémon harder than it could ever land on you.
Trainers themselves are untouched. Everything about what hostiles do to you is exactly as it was.
Why there is a modpack update
One fix lives on your side of the screen, so it needs the pack update.
When a Pokémon fainted or got switched out, the recall beam played and the camera started shaking for as long as the beam lasted. The cause: the battle camera wanted to go back to you the moment your Pokémon went down, but the Pokémon was still standing there dissolving into the beam, so the camera bounced between the two of you every tick. The camera now treats a Pokémon as gone the instant the beam takes it and holds still until your next Pokémon comes out.
Update the pack and the shake is gone. Nothing else about battles changed.
