v1.12.8 — The Crowd Control Update

🎨 Visuals Fixed. (Mostly.)

The modern texture issues have finally been addressed. Everything should look significantly less broken now. Warning: The water bug is probably still there. It’s persistent. It’s resilient. It’s likely sentient at this point. Just try not to look directly at it and maybe it'll go away.

⚖️ Balancing the Chaos

We’ve made "numerous" (read: some) improvements to worldgen balancing. Structures and terrain should feel a bit more intentional and a lot less like a collision of random variables. Additionally, I wrote a global mob cap using InControl. The entity count is now strictly regulated to prevent the server from committing self-deletion.

🚀 Optimization is (Still) Not Optional

Further optimizations have been pushed to the server TPS. Between the entity caps and general cleanup, the pack is running smoother than ever. We are squeezing every bit of stability out of this 1.12.2 engine. It’s fighting back, but we’re winning.

v1.12.8 brings the visuals back to life and puts the mobs on a leash. The water bug is likely lurking, but the server won't explode when you look at it. Go play. - 67
