⚔️ Path of the Ascended - Major Update 4.1 ⚔️

This is a comprehensive rebuild of the modpack. We’ve focused on aggressive performance optimization, bug squashing, and a complete overhaul of the difficulty scaling system. While it should be compatible with existing saves, please backup your world before updating just in case! For the best experience, I recommend a totally clean install of the modpack, to do this, simply backup any files you want to keep (such as your options.txt and saves folder), then delete the modpack and reinstall, copying over your backed up files!

🚀 Performance & System Optimizations:

  • Structure Layout Optimizer: Significantly faster jigsaw structure generation with reduced TPS impact.
  • Smooth Chunk Save: Eliminated lag spikes during chunk loading/unloading.
  • EMI++ Interface: Total UI clean-up. Merged block variants (coloured wool, etc.) to reduce menu size from ~60 pages down to ~20.
  • Bloat Removal: Removed Mobs Attempt Parkour, Eldritch Mobs, and Keep Inventory Penalty (deprecated) to improve stability and server performance.
  • Cleaned Configs: Purged over 100 unused configuration files for a leaner installation.

⚖️ Difficulty & Scaling Rework:

  • The Rule of Three (Boss Ultimatum): Bosses now demand mastery. Bosses heal 20% whenever they kill a player. After 3 successful kills on the player, the boss will despawn. No more "cheesing" or infinite chipping! (Ender Dragon is exempt from these rules for obvious reasons).
  • Global Scaling Levels: Difficulty is now tiered by "Levels" (+10% HP/DMG, +1 Armor per level).
  • Overworld: Level 4 (+50% over vanilla).
  • The Nether: Level 12 (+150% over vanilla).
  • The End: Level 24 (+300% over vanilla).
  • Structure Stakes: Specific areas now have hard-coded difficulty floors. Strongholds are Level 8, while Bastions and Fortresses are Level 16.
  • Dynamic Variance: Mobs now have a +/- 25% random variance in stats, allowing for "Elite" versions of standard enemies.
  • Multiplayer Scaling: Mobs (non-bosses) gain +10% stats per additional player but drop 10% more XP to compensate.

🛠️ Balancing & Content:

  • New Content: Added Illager Structures (30+ new locations) and Dumplings Delight.
  • Progression Shift: Night Lich and Void Blossom are now parallel choices for forging the Exotic Eye.
  • Deep Dark Expansion: The Cold Eye is now crafted using materials found in the Deep Dark rather than being a Night Lich drop.
  • Buffed: Flint Spear, Raid Axe, and Daggers (+1 DMG).
  • Nerfed: Stone Raid Axe (-2 DMG) to make the transition to Iron more impactful.
  • Magic Compatibility: Added Spell Enchantment support (Infinity, Haste, Power, etc.) for all Death Knight and Soulslike Weaponry items.
  • Death Penalty: Dying now removes all your experience, promoting the use of the new xp storage books.

📜 Quests & Fixes:

  • New Tutorials: Added an intermediary quest for Gem Dust (Pre-Salvaging Table) and updated several legacy quest descriptions.
  • Obtainability: Added a crafting recipe for the Bundle (Leather + String).
  • Recipe Fixes: Fixed the Flower Pot vs. Clay Bucket conflict.
  • Loot Variety: Added 2 additional random rewards to every crate tier.
  • Visuals: Fixed Xali’s Potions load order and increased Quest Chapter visibility.
