Install Optifine with Dynamic Lights ON - make sure that Fast Render, Anisotropic Filtering, and Antialiasing are OFF.

Just drop the jar into your mods folder.

Parasite

This modpack is centered around raiding dungeons from Roguelike Dungeons to acquire gear in order to combat the parasites. It's hardcore, with several threats to deal with including the darkness, blood moons, parasites, and traps in the dungeons. Recommended to play on Hardcore.

Features

- The parasites from Scape and Run: Parasites are the main threat in this modpack. They start on evolution phase 3 to really kick things off, but you'll also spawn with a fair bit of initial equipment to help offset the initial difficulty.

- Your primary weapons will be the guns from Vic's Modern Warfare. Lots of ammo and some guns can be found in the dungeons as loot.

- You must progress quickly if you want to survive - you're expected to die a lot, and you'll likely need to go through several worlds before you can get a grasp. Once you've progressed to the point where you're basically unkillable, consider yourself as having won the game. Because progression is quite rapid when raiding dungeons, don't expect this to take very long as long as you survive.

- There is great emphasis on the dark. Dark areas are pitch black, and you'll need to bring lots of illumination to be able to see where you're going along with the inevitable threats looming in the dark. It also gets pitch black at night out on the surface. If you stay in the dark for too long, you'll also get devoured by a predator of the dark - the Grue. Torches must also be lit by match boxes or flint and steels before you can use them as a light source.

- Hostile mobs and parasites are a major threat. Even the regular mobs pose a threat within the dungeons early-game, and the more advanced parasites can smash through walls and stone to get to you. Trust me - you don't want to get hit by those ones.

- The Essentials mod is included so you can easily play with your friends. For hardcore players, Hardcore Revival is included so that you have a chance to revive your friends when they get downed.

- Lots of emphasis on sound - beside a variety of mods which add to the ambience, sounds also serve as important gameplay queues. Pay attention to the ambience - it might give hints as to what threats are nearby. Using sound to your advantage can mean the difference between death and survival in the early game.

- While the dungeons provide you with lots of gear and supplies to help you survive the early game, the depths of the dungeons are also filled with resources which you can use to rapidly progress through the tech mods and acquire armor from draconic evolution so that you can truly push back the parasite invasion.
