What Is OverWorld Island?

A mod pack for use on the OverWorld Island server. Also fully compatible with singleplayer, if you dont prefer PVP. Its inspired from the likes of games like Rust, Escape from Tarkov, The Forest, and other survival/build/pvp/exploration games! You spawn into an island full POI's, and a few safe zones to buy, sell, trade, and upgrade your quality of life on the island. There are lots of different mobs of ranging difficulty, some extremely dangerous to fight without military-grade gear. Plenty of secrets and puzzles scattered throughout the island, including optional quests and a storyline, which if completed, rewards some of the best loot on the server. Youll also want to build a base to protect your loot and store gadgets that will help you earn money and advance, but youll want to be mindful, as just like the popular game Rust, players can raid your base via rockets only. (Eco Raiding and other methods planned soon) There are 3 different tiers of block you can use to build your base, all stronger but more expensive to purchase as you go up in tiers. Includes an overhauled health system aswell, which is extremely similar to the likes of Tarkov. Includes proximity voice chat, teams, and code locked doors(Who will get code raided?!) Includes various vehicles (if you can afford them) to traverse the map faster. Includes an overhauled sound system, which includes some seriously satisfying sounds, similar to Tarkov once again, & So much more! Constant Updates, official server release with Bi-Weekly Wipes, and Bi-weekly new traders/content! - Update 1.5

New logo, Tons of bug fixes, map tweaks, shop tweaks, getting ready for launch! One of the last updates!

The 1.5 update brings one of the last few rounds of mega bug fixes, shop tweaks, dimension and map tweaks, and more! Mostly tying up loose ends and making sure its ready to go for server launch! We also got a new logo! To read what all came with this update, be sure to checkout the changelog under the latest file! See you guys on the island VERY soon! :D

- Update 1.4

New Mobs, A few new satisfying Mods, some bug fixes and more!

Rather small update this time around, but still very important! Added a few new cool mobs, my favorite being the hell hound in the nether! Also added the Buffalo, SeaHorse, Crab, and Arachnid (a boss spider). Also added three new client side mods to make the gameplay even more immersive! Includes Ambient Sounds, Sound Filters, and Better Animal Models. Besides that, i fixed a few bugs, and found a few chests and dead bodies full of loot i left on the map from testing.. whoops! Also moved the selling of fish to the fishing village, in hopes more players will visit there! Thanks for playing! See you on the server soon!

- Update 1.3

New base building QOL and cosmetic items! Bug Fixes. Shop Tweaks. Nether Improvements. And more!

This update includes a few new and awesome items to enhance your base! You can now buy the Stone Ladder, and the Trapdoor. This will make the base building possibilities much more vast! You can now also get a display shelf, allowing you to set your weapons, gadgets, rare items, or whatever you could want on it! The last new addition to items for your base is the music box! Never a dull moment with one of these, and you can purchase it, along with different records, outside of the Local Bandits Shop!

Besides new items, this update also fixed a couple noteworthy bugs/exploits. For starters, the display case has been removed from being used to showcase smaller items in the Safe Haven shops, as players could loot the item from inside of it. LOL. Also, the Microwave before this update was unbreakable, even by rockets. This has obviously been fixed, haha.

Changes have been made to the shops.. in all dimensions! I slightly reduced the cost of missiles and the rocket launchers, to make raiding other players not as impossible. I also added a few more shops for BioChemist in the nether, to make surviving there a bit easier, and also a way to earn money from the Dimension-Specific mobs that are there. And also, if your brave enough, i added a way to beat the nether chapter without having to get the special armor to cross the lava ;)

Quests, Lore, and a purpose! A story line on a Multiplayer PVP Server? Impossible!!

This update brings one of the craziest yet! Now on Overworld island, you can beat minecraft in a whole new and exciting way, all in real time on a server with your friends, or in singleplayer mode too! What exactly does this mean you might ask? Basically, i created quests, and an entire story line, that revolves around the island, split up into 5 chapters. that you progress through vanilla-style (e.i: Overworld>Nether>End).

The people of the island have gotten fed up with the economy and goverment control, as the safe haven is growing fast and taking over the land, not to mention the inflation in prices is driving all the island inhabitants broke. So the islanders begin looking for a way off the island. You dont begin this journey until you complete the Ancient Prison Monument Puzzle, allowing you access to your first "Quest Loot Bag". All quests loot bags will be the same baby blue color, to know when youve just found something really important! You will aquire 3 prismarine crystals, and a rough idea of the whereabouts of a man named the Elder Guardian. Once you have located the Elder Guardians hidden POI. Youll gain access to your first two chapter books aswell as your first encounter with enchanted weapons. These books will walk you through the story, and provide you details about hidden monuments, and information you need to complete the two chapters and move to the next, and the weapons will help you survive the progressively harder challenges. For each chapter completed, you will receive a keycard from the elder guardian, allowing access to the next chapters secret monument. Once you have completed the first two chapters from the Elder Guardian, you then get access to the Nether Portal. From there, you will find the biochemist taking shelter in the nether, and hes set up his own little shop. The Biochemist sells the only fire protectant armor in the game, and youll need to save up and buy it from him to complete the next chapter. Once youve purchased the armor, you can purchase chapter 3 from the biochemist. The Biochemist is looking for a nether star that was stolen from him, and in return, hell give you a keycard he managed to steal from a wither skeleton. In chapter 3, you find out that the Wither knows where the end portal location is, and that its actually in the nether, some distance away. You get some directions on how to find it, and if you have your armor from him, you can cross the lava lake, and follow the lanterns until you find the nether star location, which turns out, isnt far from the end portal location too... Once found, you can exchange with the biochemist for the chapter 4 keycard. You take your newly acquired keycard back to the end portal location. After you figure out how to get access to the door to it, you will enter a room with the chapter 4 book, and the end portal. The chapter 4 book wraps up the story, and as you go through the end portal, your greeted with the challenge of defeating the ender dragon. If you manage to, the ender dragon will drop an Elytra, which you can take to the glass dome hovering in the sky, and choose 1 of 5 things. Decide to keep it and fly around for fun. Trade it for a Dragon egg (does nothing, but is the rarest item in the game, and you can show it off to other people on the server). Trade it for 6 Diamonds (makes you rich). Trade it for a Level 5 keycard (to get access inside the dome, which takes you to the bonus final chapter, ill let this one be a surprise :D). Or lastly, trade it for the best weapon in the game, an enchanted heavy machine gun, called "The Dragon Slayer". Depending on what you chose, you will head back to the Island, and simply enjoy your new riches, having beaten the game :)

I am super excited about this, it took an incredibly long time to implement, countless hours tying all the puzzles and lore together, custom building the monuments, making the progression flow smoothly, ect.

This update will implement an insane backbone for the Single Player mode, but keep in mind, this is all being implemented on the official online server as well! You can do this all in real time, with your friends, and still have to worry about being raided and PVP'ing!! Imagine getting raided while your doing a quest in another dimension?!?!?! Or running into another player deep in the nether, or maybe mid fight with an ender dragon?? With Quests and a story line all being implemented on a PVP/survival style server, the possibilities are endless. I am beyond excited for you guys to experience this and test it out first hand! - Update 1/28/2022

This is It!!!! We are officially moved out of alpha and beta stages! This update includes the final piece of the puzzle, and also the challenge that has been daunting me for the longest. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Naparu's Programming, for making the mod we needed come true, and doing it better than i could have ever imagined! You can now find loot bags scattered throughout each POI, that have chances from dropping your common items all the way up to weapons/gear/money, and more! There are 5 different tiers of loot bags, Common, midtier, military, common medical, and military medical. All with there own unique colors! Each bag is configured to respawn at different times depending on the tier of bag. It works like butter and makes the looting experience VERY rewardable. As mentioned in the last log, this was the final mechanic missing that was holding this back from being released (and ill admit, some more bugs too). I squashed all those, cleaned up a few monuments, swapped some things around in safe haven, and some minor backend things aswell. After adding the Loot bags, and doing some test plays, i discovered the safe haven prices were now way too low (I became rich in 20 minutes, LOL) So i completely overhauled the safe zone prices, and organized a few shops while i was at it too. Now the prices are much more realistic, and makes for a much longer, more rewarding, and more addicting gameplay. Im happy to say, this is ready to go! I can load up the server, and it will be 100% functional and ready for all players! Very next thing on the list is to upload some walkthroughs and tutorial videos on my discord so you guys can get an idea what this is all about, and find out the best methods for getting started, what to buy first, where to build, the best guns, the best armor, the best things to sell, some of the POI puzzles, and so much more! Optifine is still working decent on the server. Experiencing an obfuscate crash every once and awhile, but a simple game reboot or fresh install of Optifine should fix it. The singleplayer world is alot more finicky with optifine, and you may have to remove it temporarily if trying to play singleplayer. Other than that, the server is already up and running, we are a go! I will "Officially" see you on the island! :D If you wanna play, simply join the discord server, find the text channel "Server Access", and follow the instructions from there!

This one was a big one, Officially no longer Alpha, now in BETA stages! Ironed out a MASSIVE amount of bugs. Added TONS of new features/mechanics/quality of life improvements. Finally fully compatible with shaders and texture packs. Added support for singleplayer/offline mode. Removed some unnecessary mods, added some much better ones! Got VOIP chat fully functioning, and a TON more. Please read the latest modpack files change log, as i went way more in depth with the updates/changes there. Server is up and running very stable! Currently going through gameplay testing and quality assurance tests. Were almost there!! Official server release coming soon! Alpha gameplay ready, servers running, and mod pack file officially added! please keep in mind, unless you have access to the private server this is being developed on, this will not function properly in single player mode AT ALL. I did include an unfinished version of the map in the mod pack, for people to checkout in single player if they’d like, but the map is far more advanced/finished on the server. If you would like the real experience, please reach out and i will provide you the server password.

Map Creation is completed, working on finalizing mobs and the shop/safe zone system next. Weapons, Base Building, and a few other mechanics are already done. We are coming along!! For now, still no server for you guys to test and see the progress with me. But when it is up and running (dont worry, im working day in and out!) it will be a password protected server, and i will be allowing small groups of people to test and help with development and find/squash bugs. As of now with the list of mods required for this, optifine is being extremely finicky. A main goal is for this to be fully compatible with shaders and resource packs, as im a huge fan of beautiful graphics. The times when i can get Optifine to work, the island and overall entire gameplay experience im creating is far more enhanced and engaging, so hopefully this will be ironed out. -stay tuned!

Huge shoutout to all the wonderful devs and mod creaters involved in making these amazing mods. Im simply someone inspired to bring a modern, streamline, fun, and addicting game mode to Minecraft. There will be no Pay To Win mechanics, no kits, no VIP. There will be zero methods of earning money from this. As of now, this will be 100% created and updated on Forge, for Minecraft Version 1.16.5. In the future, when mods become updated and optimized, i may move to 1.18.
