It's all about origins and their are a few twists that allow you to truly change your MC playstyle. There are about 50/50 origins to QoL/progression mods. An origin is basically a species that you choose to be at the beginning of your world and is not changeable but they give benefits and disbenefits as well. There are also other mods such as Antique Atlas (which makes it so you can craft a map that updates in real time and you can mark things on that map as well) that give you more stuff to do or just make playing Minecraft easier.
