Mining Help, Tool Repair & Quality of Life Update

OREBOUND 0.1.6 is focused on making the existing progression easier to understand and smoother to play.

This update adds a full visual Mining Help section, direct Quantum Bore and Worldheart construction diagrams, a new tool repair system, additional crafting shortcuts, several quality of life mods, and a visual overhaul for OREBOUND's mining equipment.

New Mining Help Chapter

Added a dedicated Mining Help chapter directly to OREBOUND Main Progression.

Mining Help now appears before the numbered progression chapters so new players can find it immediately.

Nine labeled visual guides have been added:

• Mechanical Miner Front
• Mechanical Miner Side
• Correct Miner Placement
• OREBOUND Miner Tiers
• Step 1 — Find The Resource Seam
• Step 2 — Wrap The Seam
• Step 3 — Break The Packed Seam
• Step 4 — Place The Packed Seam
• Step 5 — Unpack The Seam

The guides explain several mechanics that were causing confusion for new players:

• One Miner operates one Resource Seam
• The eye-shaped face of the Miner must point toward the Seam
• A Seam can be 1–8 blocks in front of the Miner
• A Seam 9 or more blocks away will not work
• Miner side configuration and automation
• Miner tier progression
• Resource Seam grades and reserves
• The complete Mekanism Cardboard Box Seam relocation process

Early mining quests now direct players toward Mining Help when additional explanation is useful.

Quantum Bore Visual Guide

The Quantum Bore questline now includes dedicated construction diagrams showing:

• The exact 5×5 structure layout
• Frame positions
• Stabilizer positions
• Energy, Coolant, and Output Port locations
• Controller placement and inward-facing direction
• Quantum Drill Assembly placement
• The World Core Deposit directly below the Quantum Drill Assembly

This should make construction possible directly from the quest book without having to interpret the structure from text alone.

Worldheart Visual Guide

The Worldheart questline now includes dedicated construction diagrams showing:

• The exact 7×7 structure layout
• Frame positions
• Stabilizer positions
• Core Chamber placement
• Energy, Coolant, and Input Port locations
• Controller placement and direction
• Activation connections and infrastructure layout

New Tool Repair System

OREBOUND Core 0.1.6 introduces a new durability safety system.

• Mining and utility tools now stop at 1 durability instead of disappearing
• Worn Out tools cannot be used again until repaired
• Damaged tools can be repaired in a crafting grid using their normal repair materials
• Each material restores 25% maximum durability by default
• Crafting repairs cost no XP
• Enchantments, names, item data, and Prior Work are preserved
• Repair recipes are now visible through JEI
• Armor and dedicated weapons retain normal durability behavior

Improved Anvil Repairs

• Normal repair operations no longer increase Prior Work by default
• Repair material and XP costs remain unchanged
• Normal enchanting and other anvil operations remain unaffected

New Bulk Crafting Recipes

Added several simple bulk recipes to reduce repetitive early-game crafting:

• 2 vertically placed Logs → 16 Sticks
• 8 Logs around the outside of the crafting grid → 4 Chests
• 5 Iron Ingots + 2 Logs → 1 Hopper

Storage Guidance

• Functional Storage remains the recommended storage progression for OREBOUND
• Storage Drawers remains available as an optional alternative
• Quest and Field Manual guidance has been clarified so players are not forced toward one system unnecessarily

New Quality of Life Mods

Added:

• Toast Control 9.0.1
• Yeetus Experimentus 87.0.0
• Leaves Be Gone 21.1.1

These additions reduce unnecessary toast spam, remove the Experimental Settings warning, and provide faster leaf decay.

Tool Visual Overhaul

The Crushing Hammer now has a new custom heavy-tool texture.

Unique textures have also been added for:

• Reinforced Pickaxe
• Steel Pickaxe
• Osmium Drill Pick
• Reinforced Diamond Drill
• Core Drill
• Worldbreaker Drill

The Reinforced Pickaxe no longer uses the vanilla Iron Pickaxe appearance.

Quest & Documentation Cleanup

• Mining Help moved into OREBOUND Main Progression instead of being buried in Reference
• All Mining Help images now contain their own readable labels and explanations
• Updated early Miner quests with direct Mining Help references
• Fixed Pack The Deposit guidance
• Updated Field Manual information for tool durability and repairs
• Improved Resource Seam relocation instructions
• Added visual construction support directly to the Quantum Bore and Worldheart chapters
• Additional wording and progression-guidance cleanup
