To get started, check out the Tinkers' Survival Book that you receive in your Eccentric Tome upon loading a new world. It'll guide you throughout the beginning stages of surviving along your journey. Your initial tools will be a crude set, from Tinker's Construct, as there are practically no vanilla tools available.
