What's new

v0.9: More to grow, more to build

Added

  • FTB XMod Compat. Click an item task in the quest book and you can now see how to make that item, using the recipe viewer.
  • New optional Act III quest: Slow Fire. Lava is easy to spend and hard to find. A riddle about caves, dripstone and a cauldron points toward a way to make more.
  • New optional Mystical Agriculture crop quests. Grow what the Oneblock rarely gives you.
    • Act IV (The Deep): Grown Stone, Grown Wood and Four Corners (air, earth, water and fire seeds). Then a row of metals and minerals: Grown Copper, Grown Zinc, Grown Coal, Grown Redstone, Grown Brass, Grown Quartz and Grown Glowstone.
    • Act V (Fire): Grown Tin and Grown Bronze.
    • Act VI (Thought): Grown Certus, Grown Sky Stone and Grown Silicon.
    • Act IX (The Worldseed): Rich Soil asks for osmium and nickel seeds. They are tier four, so they need imperium essence and imperium farmland.
  • New optional Oritech quests in Act V.
    • Pipes of Power (item and energy pipes), A Small Sun (Basic Generator), Patient Hands (Assembler), Crumble the Ore (Fragment Forge) and Spin It Apart (Centrifuge).
  • New optional Mekanism quests in Act V.
    • Ore, Three Times Over (Purification Chamber), Pressure (Osmium Compressor), Liquid Things (Electric Pump and Fluid Tank) and A Bigger Pocket (Basic Bin).
  • Soulstone in the Oneblock. Soul Jars, which Mystical Agriculture needs for mob seeds such as Blaze and Enderman, need soul dust. Soul dust comes from smelting soulstone, which used to exist only in world generation. Soulstone cobble now appears in the opening chests of the Nether, Ancient City and Deep Dark tiers (smelt it three times to get soul dust).

Notes for existing worlds

  • The new quests appear when you load an existing world, and existing quest progress is kept.
  • The soulstone additions are in each tier's opening chest, which is placed once when that tier unlocks. They only appear for tiers you haven't unlocked yet.

v0.8: Goggle helmets and armored backtanks

Added

  • Create Goggles (Create Plus): adds goggle helmets and armored backtanks for Create.
    • Goggle helmets: craft Create's Engineer's Goggles together with a helmet to merge them. The helmets covered are leather, chainmail, iron, golden, diamond, netherite and turtle. The diving helmet and Create's cardboard helmet also have goggle versions.
    • Armored backtanks: craft Create's copper backtank together with a chestplate to get an armored backtank. They exist for leather, chainmail, iron, golden and diamond.
    • Crushing: put a merged helmet or armored backtank in a Create crushing wheel to get the goggles or backtank back.
    • Copper armor: the copper helmet and chestplate from Copper Age Backport can't be merged. Only the helmets and chestplates listed above work.

Updated

  • Collective.

Notes

  • This update changes mods only. There are no quest, trade or progression changes, and it works with existing worlds.

v0.7: A 26.x flavor: copper gear, Pale Garden and more

Added

  • Vanilla Backport (with its Platform library) brings content from recent Minecraft versions into the pack. It adds:
    • The Pale Garden: the pale oak biome and the Creaking, which only comes from Creaking Hearts.
    • Spring to Life: bushes, firefly bushes, wildflowers, dry grass, fallen trees and leaf litter.
    • Chase the Skies: the Happy Ghast.
    • Chaos Cubed: the Sulfur Cube.
    • Bundles of Bravery: the updated bundles.
    • Hot as Lava: a smaller addition.
  • Copper Age Backport adds the Copper Age:
    • Copper tools and weapons, and copper armor (between chainmail and iron), plus copper horse armor.
    • The Copper Golem, copper chests, buttons, statues, torches, lanterns, chains, bars, doors, trapdoors, grates and bulbs.
    • Shelves.
    • Copper is common in the Underground tier, so copper gear is an easy upgrade for the early game.

Removed

  • Just Enough Resources (JER) is gone. It crashed the game when you hovered over a mob's drops in JEI (an alpha build with a bug on its mob pages). Advanced Loot Info already shows loot tables and chances.

Notes for existing worlds

  • Your existing world loads as it is. The copper tools, armor and blocks work straight away.
  • The new terrain features (Pale Garden, fallen trees, bushes and so on) only appear in chunks that haven't been generated yet.
  • If you haven't planted the Worldseed yet, the restored world will use the new terrain features. If you already have, you keep the world you got.
  • Don't remove Vanilla Backport or Copper Age Backport from a world that has used them. Removing content mods can corrupt a save.
  • Copper Age Backport is a beta build (0.1.5.1-pre). The older 0.1.4 "release" crashes on startup, so don't downgrade it.

v0.6: Iron and quartz in Act III, Mechanical Crafter quests, mod updates

Added

  • New optional Act III quests: A Hand for Every Cell and Potato Cannon. Build a block of mechanical crafters (the quest explains how to make the electron tubes they need), then use them to build the Potato Cannon.
  • Iron trader. In the Underground and Caves tiers a trader now swaps 4 iron ingots for 12-16 oak logs.
  • Black quartz to quartz. In the Caves tier a trader now swaps black quartz for quartz 1 to 1. Black quartz comes from sifting gravel with a brass mesh and from Cave blocks.

Changed

  • Iron ore is more common in the Underground and Caves tiers. Raw iron drops about 1 in 24 breaks, up from 1 in 35. Other blocks are about 3% rarer to make room.

Updated

  • Collective, Sophisticated Core and Sophisticated Storage.

Notes for existing worlds

  • The new quests, iron weights and trades apply to existing worlds when you load them. The trades are random, so a trader may not offer them straight away.

v0.5: Act X power and forging branches, Advanced Loot Info

Added

  • Advanced Loot Info (ALI) is now included, so players can look up loot tables and drop chances in-game.
  • New optional Act X quests: Actually Additions
    • The Atom Smasher is the Atomic Reconstructor.
    • Red Light, Blue Light and Black Light are the Restonia, Palis and Void crystals.
    • A Field of Yellow → Squeeze → Let It Stand → Green Oil covers canola, the Canola Press, the Fermenting Barrel and the Oil Generator.
  • New Act X quests: Oritech power (these start from the Black Rain quest)
    • Oil to Power asks for Oritech's Fuel Generator, which burns the crude oil players collect in Black Rain.
    • Cracking Black Rain (optional) asks for the Refinery.
    • Catch the Sun (optional) asks for the Solar Panel, a 3×3 multiblock. The quest text points players at Mystical Agriculture crops for the platinum, nickel, electrum and steel it needs.
  • New optional Act X quests: the Foundry (Productive Metalworks' big multiblock forge)
    • Fire and Clay → The Foundry → Pour It Out → A Mould for Ingots → Pale Gold goes from fire bricks to casting an electrum ingot.
  • Beacon reward. Shard of Motion, the last quest of Act III: The Memory of Gears, now also gives a Beacon.

Changed

  • Black Rain quest text now describes oil gushing out of the ground, which is how Oritech's oil actually appears, and says oil is most common in deserts. It also mentions that a Pump can drain a well.

Notes for existing worlds

  • The new quests appear when you load an existing world, and existing quest progress is kept.
  • Players who already claimed Shard of Motion may need to re-open that quest to claim the Beacon.
  • The Act X additions are post-game. The only one that needs real preparation is Catch the Sun, which wants a lot of mining or a Mystical Agriculture farm.

v0.4: Early-game food and farm fixes

Fixed

  • Players could get stuck on the Act II crop quests (Underground Treasure, Don't Cry, Wet Feet). Potatoes, onions, rice and beetroot seeds were only sold for 4–12 apples, and apples almost never drop from the Oneblock. The early crop trades now cost dirt, and the Forest chest can also contain potatoes, beetroot seeds, onions and rice.
  • The later seed and vegetable trades (pumpkin, melon, tomato, cabbage, onion, rice) no longer cost 20–40 apples.
  • Farm animal tickets are now affordable: the pig costs carrots and the cow and sheep cost wheat, instead of 12–16 apples.
  • Optional quest "Light in the Caves": glow berries are much easier to get (a bigger chance in the Lush Caves chest, and the moss trade is cheaper).

Changed

  • Water buckets drop less often from the Oneblock's random chests (about a third as many). A bucket is infinite once placed, so players were collecting piles of them. The first bucket every player needs is still guaranteed.

Notes for existing worlds

  • The cheaper trades and the lower water bucket chance apply to existing worlds as soon as you load them. The extra crops in the Forest chest only appear in worlds created on v0.4, because that chest is only placed once, when tier 1 unlocks.
  • If you are stuck on a crop quest in an older world, the trader now sells it for dirt.

v0.3: Tier unlock fixes

Fixed

  • Quest rewards that unlock the next Oneblock tier failed with "Incorrect argument for command … neoblock tiers satisfy". They now run with the permission level NeoBlock needs, so finishing the quest unlocks the tier, even in worlds with cheats off.
  • Leaving a world and coming back could turn the Oneblock into bedrock ("Tier N has been updated and is incompatible"). Each tier now unlocks from the quest alone, so worlds reload normally.

Changed

  • Tiers no longer also require breaking a set number of blocks. The quests are the only gate.

If you are mid-game on an older version

  • Worlds started before v0.3 may show the "updated and incompatible" message after updating. Start a new world.

v0.2: Crash fix

Fixed

  • Game crashed when joining or creating a world. v0.1 shipped Sodium 0.8.13 with Iris 1.8.12, which are incompatible (Iris expects Sodium 0.6). Sodium is now 0.6.13, matched to Iris 1.8.12. Worlds now load normally.

Notes

  • Shaders are off by default. Enable one under Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs. Complementary Reimagined and Unbound (with Euphoria Patches) are included. Shaders are heavy: expect lower frame rates on weaker GPUs.
  • If you update Sodium or Iris yourself, keep them a matched pair. Iris 1.8.12 needs Sodium 0.6.x.
