Omega's Beta Plus looks to make modern Minecraft feel like older versions of the game, balancing aspects of the game I feel are unbalanced, changing a few crafting recipes, and making the game a little more difficult.
By default the game may be a bit challenging for anyone who isn't too familiar with minecraft but for anyone who has played as long as I have the pack should be a relatively relaxed but challenging experience. I recommend using the video settings I have (with exeption to the GUI scale I prefer mine smaller) and playing this pack slower as if it were old minecraft, don't worry about the ender dragon, elytra, or mega builds. Just relax, build something that might not look too good, and go mining for diamonds.
Some features include:
-Giving minecarts the ability to be chained together so that furnace minecarts are useful.
-Changing how beds work to make sleep no longer skip night but instead sleep through it.
-Changing the respawn system to be tied to a modded respawn obelisk mod with custom crafting recipes.
-Old bugs/features like ladder gaps, squid milking, creeper straifing, sheep wool punching, and full block chests that can be opened under blocks (the mod nostalgia tweaks lets you change these options and more)
-Horses can now swim as long as you don't jump into the water and drown them you will stay on. As well as this you can use the Callable Horses mod to asign a personal horse to call to you so you can travel easier.
-Backpacks are in the mod as well. Using Nyf's Wearable Backpacks to expand your inventory by your inventory and hotbar in size.
-Mending is now rarer only available from chests and fishing. Along with this Mending only removes the material cost of repairing (you need the material but it wont consume it) as well as anvils changes. Anvils now don't break and repairing costs 1 material item and 3 levels for 40% of the items durability being repaired.
-There are also many smaller features such as healing being slower, campires giving you regen as long as they are lit (They are only lit for 1 day but you can configure that how you'd like the file is in the defaultconfigs folder), chains connecting to fences like leads, shift right clicking with an empty bottle hurts you and makes an xp bottle, enchanted tomes that hold around 30 levels of xp, higher enchant levels, grind stones can split enchants off of items onto books, leads work on more mobs than vanilla, potions stack to 16, and lanterns can be placed on the sides of blocks just to name a few things.
I hope that anyone who plays this pack enjoys it. I have tried to make it as customizable as I can while also attempting to make the baseline configs fairly balanced (though in a way to make the game a bit harder)
I highly recommend playing with the Villager Nerfing datapack that I have in the folder named DataPacksUse. It just removes diamond tools and armor from their trades and balances their enchanting books a bit)
2 versions are for download of this pack.
