-Major is for rework that completely (or partially) change the gameplay and other stuffs. Will normally don't change (like Minecraft being always 1.x.x)
-Minor is not that minor, it's for not game breaking stuffs (or just a little bit), but can be a lot of changes (like this release).
-Patch is some small stuffs like mod updates.
