Objective Overdrive - Changelog [6.0]
General
Change quest file names slightly (again)
In the last release, I changed the Mobs (Killed) quests to have a different format.
Before, they were: "stats_killed_difficulty", ie; "stats_killed_peaceful".
Now, they are: "stats_difficulty_killed", ie; "stats_peaceful_killed".
This will make it easier to eventually add quests for being killed by every mob.
It made more sense for it to be "difficulty" first because both of the sets of quests will have that, but each set will only have one of the "killed/died" part included.
I also changed all of the "Biome" prefixed quest chapter .snbt file's names with "Biomes" so it fits the "Blocks" and "Items" files better.
Add more pages/redesign ALL pages in Patchouli
It took me almost 4 versions since adding it but I've finally started making it more useful! The formatting was pretty hard to learn though. (I might make a basic guide for it?)
Quests
Change ALL quest chapter page's settings to have the "Disable Toasts" option disabled
There were a few random ones that both did and didn't have it, so now they're properly enabled. I guess I didn't double check before last release, so now the "goal" toast with the music will display when you complete each chapter!
Change ALL completion quests to not be set to "Is Secret"
I decided to change it because it might make it more clear what you have left to unlock.
Change ALL completion quests to have specific and unique background "shapes" to their quest icon outline
This makes it go well with the change right before this one, where they're not set to "Is Secret" and I think it's a lot easier to understand at a glance.
"Heart" is for top-level quests. Such as dimension or "Obtain All X" quests. (That's for quests that apply to half of an entire chapter, such as "Obtain All Buckets (Mobs)" in the Buckets chapter, for example.)
"Octogon" is for top-level quests that don't apply to those previously mentioned.
"Hexagon" is for quests below that level, such as "Obtain All X" quests that apply to all of ONE type of item/block. Such as "Obtain All Oak Blocks (Forestry)" in the Forestry chapter.
"Pentagon" is for quests at the lowest level, such as "Obtain All X" quests that apply to all of ONE type of item/block in a SMALLER amount. Such as "Obtain All Saplings" in the Forestry chapter.
I'm not exactly sure how else to explain it but I think it makes sense to me. That's with most things though, haha.
Change ALL "/say" commands to be "/say @p..." instead of just "/say..." and disable the "Run As Player" option
I always tested the game with cheats on even in survival. So the command wouldn't send because the game thinks you're trying to send it "as a player" and you wouldn't have permission because you don't have cheats on. That's kind of obvious in hindsight but that's why, as I always say, it's always good to playtest things in the same "envinronment" as your players! So now it's fixed.
Change more quests to have "/say" commands
This just seemed fun even if it's mostly a singleplayer modpack.
Change several chapters to be redesigned slightly
Change ALL instances of "Craft All" in quest names to be "Obtain All" to match the other quests that are named like that
I just like consistency, haha.
Change the "Building Blocks" and "Entrance Blocks" chapters to not have "Blocks" at the end
I felt like it fit the rest of the quest chapters better to have just one word in the name. It also feels easier to read now.
Change ALL completion quests in the "Entrance" chapter to say "Entrance" instead of "Interactive"
I don't know how long I had it like that but it's probably back from when I was copy-pasting text to name the quests, haha. So now it's fixed.
Change the Budding Amethyst item quest in the Building Blocks chapter to require 1 in the "distance walked" statistic and to complete the "Obtain All Amethyst Blocks" quest
I guess I forgot that you can't actually obtain that block in survival. I kept the "quest" so that it doesn't make the rows look out of place.
Change the "Obtain All Raw/Cooked Food (Animals/Fish)" completion quests in the Food chapter to require 1 in the "distance walked" statistic
The quests weren't completing just by using the normal "Tag Filter" option for whatever reason but this makes it work. So now it's fixed.
Change the "Obtain All Food (Animals/Fish)" completion quests in the Food chapter to require 1 in the "distance walked" statistic
They were both set to the actual item of the quest icon rather than the statistic like the other quests. (It's a pretty funny mistake in hindsight, haha.) So now it's fixed.
Change the "Distance by Strider" quest in the Player chapter to require visiting the Nether to be visible
This matches the other similar quests. The "Shulker Boxes Cleaned" quest require visiting The End to be visible for example, it made sense to change this one too. So now it's fixed.
Change the Ink Sac, Cocoa Beans and Cactus item quests in the Dyed Items chapter to have toast popups
They're not flowers, but they're technically used for dyes, so it made sense to have them like that. Everything else in the chapter has toast popups.
Change the Shield item quest in the Armor chapter to have a toast popup
I feel like this makes sense because it's technically armor in the same way that normal armor is.
Change the Elytra item quest in the Armor chapter to be moved to the Travel chapter
It just made more sense to be there instead, since it's technically for travel and it doesn't offer that much defense anyways.
Change the Acacia Fence item quest in the Forestry chapter to not have a toast popup
I guess I forgot to change that. So now it's fixed.
Change the wooden item quests in the Entrance chapter to not have an advancement as a reward
I'm sure how long it was set like that but it's probably from back when I was adding a lot of quests, as per usual. So now it's fixed.
Change the Goat Horn item quests to "Match NBT = True"
Apparently just setting it to "Goat Horn" made every quest unlock whenever you completed at least one.
I haven't had that problem before with other similar quests. So now it's fixed!
Change the Mycelium Block item quest in the Building Blocks chapter to require visiting the Mushroom Fields
This matches other similar quests.
Add Pufferfish to the "Kill All Neutral Mobs (Ocean)" quest in the Neutral (Kill) chapter
I guess I forgot to add that somehow. So now it's fixed. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another mob that I'm missing, haha.
Change the "Kill All Neutral Mobs (Other)" completion quest in the Neutral (Kill) chapter to be set to "Is Secret"
I guess I forgot to do that. So now it's fixed.
Change the order of a few quest chapters slightly
Add "{([META])}" quest group
This is for completing each quest group/quest chapter group. (Insert a joke about the Meta Quest VR headset.)
Add "Statistics" chapter group
Added "Statistics" chapters include the following:
Player
This is everything tracked in the "General" tab of the vanilla game's "Statistics" screen. Specific statistics for everything else will be added sometime in a future release. Just this page alone took quite a long time.
Mods
Change Simple Backups' backup time back to the default "every 2 hours" instead of every 1 hour
Added mods include the following:
Paxi
This adds a folder for applying resourcepacks/datapacks globally. This makes it so you don't have to manually apply them in a fresh install (resource packs) or for a new world (datapacks). This will also make it easier for my to test and work on my own datapacks for the modpack!
BadOptimizations
This will help improve some performance for more minor things, which is always good. I know this modpack doesn't really need all of these but I want it to be playable!
Fast Async World Save
This makes the game save faster for the "world/data" folder, compared to Smooth Chunk's faster saving for the "world/region" folder.
Removed mods include the following:
JustEnoughItems and its related addon mods
I felt like since this modpack is more aimed towards testing your skills and it links to the Minecraft wiki, it made sense to remove something that makes a lot of the game really easy. I also like playing with a controller sometimes and it's basically impossible to navigate JEI's menus with it.
I also realized that if I'm barely using it, since there's not any custom blocks or items like normal modpacks, that most other people probably weren't either.
Advancement Remover (Replaced with a Datapack)
I replaced it with a datapack. This is my first time doing something like this but these datapacks seem like they'll be much easier to work with than mods. (At least in terms of advancements.)
Better Mods Button (Replaced with Catalogue)
This seem like a more modern and universal mod menu. I also think that it's fun to try new things.
Release Notes
I started working on this after my last release in February and I ended up taking a 2 month break in August after some personal things happened. I know this release has taken way longer than every other one but it's technically about 3 in one because I kept adding to it and I thought that I might as well just wait to upload it. This is going to be the last major release for this version of the game, 1.19.2. which is awesome! I do feel bad but as I always say; good things are worth waiting for! <3
