Valhalla is a vanilla-plus modpack built for Fabric on Minecraft 26.1.2. It's designed for players who want the familiar vanilla survival loop, but smoother, prettier, and better optimized — not a tech or magic overhaul. Every mod below is included specifically to refine the base game rather than replace it.
Visual Enhancements
- Tachyon — a custom shaderpack (included in the modpack) providing enhanced lighting, shadows, and atmosphere rendering, built specifically for Valhalla.
- Iris Shaders — the shader loader that runs Tachyon and other Iris-compatible shaderpacks on Fabric.
- Voxy — a Level of Detail (LOD) mod that renders distant terrain at reduced detail, dramatically extending visible render distance without the normal performance cost.
- Falling Leaves — adds falling leaf and flower petal particles beneath trees for a more lively overworld.
Audio
- Sound Physics Remastered — adds realistic sound propagation: sounds echo in caves, muffle through walls, and reflect off surfaces based on the surrounding geometry.
- Atmosfera — adds ambient environmental sounds (wind, birdsong, cave ambience) to reinforce the atmosphere of each biome and location.
- Plasmo Voice — adds proximity-based voice chat for in-game communication on the Valhalla server.
Performance & Optimization
- Sodium — a rendering engine replacement that significantly improves frame rates and graphics performance.
- Lithium — a general-purpose game-logic optimization mod that speeds up tick processing without changing gameplay.
- FerriteCore — reduces memory usage, helping the game run more smoothly on lower-end systems.
- Entity Culling — skips rendering entities that are behind walls or otherwise not visible to the player, improving performance in dense areas.
- VoxyServer — allows the server to upload LoD data to the client.
Quality of Life
- Zoomify — adds a configurable zoom keybind for a closer look at distant objects, similar to OptiFine's zoom.
- Mouse Tweaks — improves inventory mouse interactions, including drag-filling and scroll-to-move item behaviors.
- Mod Menu — adds an in-game menu for browsing and configuring installed mods directly from the title or pause screen.

The mods above are everything included in this modpack download. The Valhalla server additionally runs the following datapacks server-side — these require no extra download or client-side installation, but shape what you'll encounter while playing:
- Ragnarok (custom) — a custom Overworld terrain generation datapack created for Valhalla, inspired by JJThunder's terrain generation work, reshaping overworld landscapes with new terrain shapes and variation.
- Incendium by Starmute / Stardust Labs — overhauls the Nether with 8 new biomes, jigsaw-generated structures, custom mobs, weapons, and loot.
- Stellarity by kohara_ — overhauls The End with new biomes, reworked End Cities and Strongholds, a revamped Ender Dragon fight, and new items and crafting mechanics.
- Vanilla Refresh by Splatus — a 30+ feature quality-of-life datapack adding small conveniences like player sitting, equippable banners, a day counter, and improved spectator mode, while staying true to vanilla feel.
