You can update without any risk for your world, but make a back-up in case something goes wrong.
You can play with optifine, so it will work will low-configuation pc.
I think it's the last version of NSP, but if there is any bug I will remake one. Thanks for the support and don't hesit to come to the discord server (link in the modpack description) !
