Native seeks to fundementally overhaul the way that survival Minecraft feels by introducing new mechanics, items, mobs, world generation, visuals, and much more! It is meant to transform Minecraft into a North American Hunter Gatherer survival simulator, where survival is difficult, even though no fantasy monsters spawn.
Native introduces:
- Primitive and 19th century weapons and tools
- Foods and thirst mechanics
- Realistic survival mechanics
- Complex and difficult metallurgy
- Native American wildlife mobs
- Western style background and menu music
- Better looking foliage
- Overhauled Arrows
- Enhanced Environment
- On command crawling (z) and sitting (x).
- Various other features to enhance survival gameplay!
You can knap flints to receive two different items: rocks and flint sharpened. To get rocks, have a piece of flint in your main hand and right click on a stone block; to get flint sharpened, do the same thing, however, you will need to right click and left click.
Native also removes a lot of features from vanilla Minecraft to achieve the North American feel. Many of those features are either biomes or mobs. Biomes like deserts (non-badlands), jungles, and mushroom islands have been removed. Chickens, Cows, Pigs, and Horses have also been removed, as they are not native North American animals. The main source of leather will be from deer or weasel/opossum fur. Wolves will become hostile at night, and deal higher damage, so night time travel is still dangerous. It is recommended that you play this modpack on hardcore mode, as it provides the most challenging experience.
There is an issue where, even though ocean generation should be turned off, it generates large bodies of river biome that are basically oceans. If any other issues are noticed, let me know.
