The Beginning Of MythCraft Lore
Long ago, nestled between emerald hills and shimmering lakes, there thrived a peaceful kingdom known as HeartTopia. Its biomes were lush, its skies clear, and its people lived in harmony with nature and magic. But deep beneath the roots of the ancient tree, a secret began to fester.
A coven of witches, once healers and protectors, grew bitter with the kingdom’s rejection of dark magic. They formed a secretive order known as the The Coven of the Withered Veil, hidden in the shadowed hollows of the Netherwood Forest. Their rituals grew twisted—blood moons, cursed brews, and forbidden enchantments. They summoned spirits from the void and whispered to forgotten gods.
As their power grew, so did their ambition. They sought vengeance on HeartTopia for its purity and peace.
From the witches’ cauldrons came the Pillagers—twisted creations born of corrupted villagers and enchanted iron. These beings were bred for destruction: eyes glowing with malice, crossbows forged in cursed flame. They were not born—they were conjured.
The Cult sent them forth in waves, razing villages, poisoning rivers, and burning sacred groves. HeartTopia’s defenders fell one by one, unable to match the dark magic that fueled the Pillagers’ wrath.
The final battle took place in the heart of HeartTopia, beneath the Tree of Echoes, a mythical tree said to hold the memories of the world. The witches unleashed their final spell—a storm of decay that shattered the land and twisted the biomes into a grotesque reflection of their former beauty.
Now, the once-vibrant kingdom is a ruined wasteland, known only as the Haunted Grove. Survivors speak in hushed tones of the witches’ cruelty, of forests that whisper your name, and of cauldrons that bubble with the souls of the lost.
Few dare enter the Grove. Fewer return.
But deep within its cursed soil, the Cult of the Cauldron still stirs. And the Pillagers still march.
Your journey leads you far beyond the Haunted Grove, across oceans and mountain chains, to a land spoken of only in half‑remembered legends—Elarion, the Realm of Beasts. Once a sanctuary where magical species lived in harmony with travelers, druids, and ancient spirits, Elarion is now a broken echo of its former beauty.
The Land That Lost Its Heart
Elarion was famous for its peaceful bond between humans and creatures—griffins soaring beside sky‑whales, moon‑stags guiding wanderers through glowing forests, and river nymphs singing lullabies that calmed even the fiercest beasts. But when the witches’ cult—now known as the Coven of the Withered Veil—spread its corruption beyond HeartTopia, Elarion became their next target.
The Coven believed the magical species of Elarion held ancient power older than enchantments themselves. They wanted that power for their rituals. And so, under a blood‑red eclipse, they unleashed a curse that seeped into the soil, the rivers, and the hearts of every living creature.
The animals of Elarion were the first to fall.
Moon‑stags, once gentle guides, now charge at anything that breathes, their antlers dripping with shadow. Griffins circle the skies in violent packs, their feathers blackened by dark magic. Crystal foxes, known for healing magic, now spread sickness with a single touch. Even the mighty Elarion Dragons, protectors of the realm, have turned into rage‑filled terrors whose roars crack the earth.
The bond between humans and beasts shattered overnight. Survivors say the creatures’ eyes glow with the same sickly green light as the witches’ cauldrons.
The land itself bears the scars:
Forests once glowing with bioluminescent flowers now pulse with dark spores. Rivers run murky and whisper with voices that aren’t their own. Floating islands crash to the ground, their magic drained. Ancient shrines crumble, their guardians twisted into monstrous forms.
Elarion is now called The Shattered Wilds, a place where nature itself hunts you.
Your journey into the Shattered Wilds leads you to one of the last surviving settlements: Elderfall Village, a hidden refuge protected by ancient magic. The villagers here are not ordinary survivors—they are descendants of the legendary wizards and witches who once defended HeartTopia during the first rise of the Coven of the Withered Veil. Though their ancestors fell, they passed down a single spell powerful enough to keep the darkness at bay.
When you arrive, the villagers immediately sense something unusual about you. Their elder, a quiet but powerful mage named Liora, performs the ritual of the Circle of Protection—a shimmering ring of runes that glows blue and gold. This spell is ancient, older than HeartTopia itself, and only those with magical lineage can cast it.
The villagers explain that the Circle shields them from the corrupted beasts of Elarion. It is the last remnant of their ancestors’ magic, and even it is beginning to weaken.
But the moment you step inside the Circle, the runes flare brighter than they ever have. The villagers exchange fearful glances—they’ve never seen the spell react like this.
Something inside you is resonating with the magic.
Before anyone can explain, a horn echoes through the forest.
The corrupted creatures of Elarion—sent by the Coven—descend upon the village. Moon‑stags with glowing green eyes crash through the trees. Shadow‑griffins dive from the sky. Crystal foxes dart between houses, leaving trails of sickness.
The villagers fight bravely, their protective magic forming barriers and bursts of light, but the horde is overwhelming. The Circle of Protection begins to crack under the pressure.
And then the sky darkens.
Members of the Coven of the Withered Veil step from the shadows, their cloaks dripping with void magic. Their leader, The Veiled Matron, approaches you directly.
She doesn’t want the village. She doesn’t want the land. She wants you.
More specifically— the ancient rune hidden inside your soul.
A rune so old that even the villagers believed it was only a myth. A rune that could undo the Coven’s corruption… or amplify it beyond imagination.
The witches tear through the village searching for it, using spells that peel back memories, unravel thoughts, and probe the deepest parts of your being. But the rune is buried too deeply, sealed by magic even they cannot break.
Frustrated, the Matron hisses a final command.
With a single gesture, the witches unleash a spell of erasure. Your vision fractures. Your memories burn away like paper in flame. The world collapses into darkness.
You awaken alone, far from Elderfall, far from Elarion, far from anything familiar. The sky is calm. Birds sing. It feels peaceful.
But you remember nothing.
No witches. No villagers. No corruption. No rune.
Only a faint ache in your chest, like something important is missing.
From this point on, you must uncover the truth through:
NPC survivors who recognize you but refuse to say too much. Ruined journals scattered across the world. Visions triggered by magical locations. Beasts that react strangely to your presence. Villagers who whisper about “the one who was taken” Fragments of the Circle of Protection that glow when you approach
Piece by piece, you learn:
You were the key to saving HeartTopia. The rune inside you is the last hope of restoring Elarion. The Coven of the Withered Veil is still hunting you... And the corruption is spreading faster than ever
