An underground sub-biome
Stalagmites/Stalagtites added to many caves. Also, luminous "Glowshrooms (Not pictured)"
Peridot, Sapphire, and Ruby
Great for when you need to make a lot of dyes. Also, other flower types have been added to include the full dye spectrum.
Palm, Eucalyptus, Willow, and more trees have been added.
Found underwater. Coral and certain other plants do not displace water, unlike grass/flowers/etc.

Quark-r1.2-92 (Doesn't version check, so should be fine through updates. Changes to the config have been made server-side on my server.)
Quark adds a lot of functionality to Minecraft in additional craftables, mobs, and tweaks to Minecraft that they think should be included in Minecraft. Also includes additional structures, such a pirate ships, complete with a skeleton crew.

Biomes O' Plenty adds additional biome types to Minecraft without getting too crazy.
wuestUtilities-1.11.2.0 (Will need a replacement for this when 1.12 is released, only chosen for the /home command. Everything else disabled.)
Optifine. Reasons should be obvious
The idea is to create a world that is as close to Survival Minecraft as possible while maintaining a fresh look and feel as you keep exploring, and integrate various items that are enabled by popular demand.
