About Moonbound
Moonbound started as a private modpack I made simply to play Minecraft with my girlfriend. I wanted one large pack where we could explore, build, fight bosses, use magic, discover new structures and dimensions, collect strange creatures, and just follow whatever sounded fun at the moment - without being pushed into a strict progression path.
Over time, it grew into a large fantasy kitchen-sink modpack built around freedom, variety, and exploration.
There is no single “correct” way to play Moonbound. You can spend one session exploring dungeons, another building a cozy home, then dive into magic, hunt bosses, collect powerful gear, tame creatures, travel to other dimensions, or simply wander until something interesting catches your attention.
What to expect
- A huge variety of structures, dungeons, and places to discover
- Fantasy combat, weapons, armor, and bosses
- Magic and RPG-inspired content
- New creatures, companions, and unusual encounters
- Multiple dimensions to explore
- Plenty of building and decoration options
- Improved animations, visuals, sound, and atmosphere
- Multiplayer-friendly gameplay
- A true kitchen-sink experience with no forced progression
Performance & Server Version
I’ve put a lot of work into optimizing Moonbound and keeping it as smooth as possible despite the size of the modpack.
Performance can still vary depending on hardware and settings, but the pack has been carefully configured and cleaned up with stability and performance in mind.
A server version will be uploaded later once multiplayer testing and final server-side adjustments are complete.
Feedback
Moonbound is still evolving, and I’m always open to feedback from players.
If you have suggestions, balance ideas, bug reports, compatibility notes, or simply thoughts about the direction of the pack, feel free to share them.
I may not implement every suggestion, but I’ll genuinely consider useful feedback while continuing to improve Moonbound.
The main goal of Moonbound is simple:
to create a world with enough variety that every play session can turn into something completely different.
I originally made the pack just for the two of us, but eventually decided to share it in case other players enjoy the same kind of chaotic, cozy, exploration-heavy fantasy Minecraft experience.
