A Few Modest Changes...
In this update, we decided to trim some hedges, smooth some edges, and solder some wedges to round out, shape up, and polish out some dents, dings, cracks, and bugs of all kinds. We updated WAIG's code for better stability and compatibility. We expanded the Ore Dictionary with new entries and more robust existing ones. We added new recipes and rebalanced configs for a variety of quality-of-life changes (and good heavens we're not done yet).
Changes
While no one change was great enough to be presented as a feature, the composite of changes is enormous. Bear in mind this list may be missing a few of the things we did, but we'll try to keep it as complete as possible.
Content
- Implemented the STANK; stank is now generated when goblinoids and related mobs are killed
- Added the Charcoal Filter, a universal filter capable of cleaning all pollutants
- Added recipes for upgrading the backpack; reduced starting size, but eventual upgrade size is as big as a double chest!
- Updated WAIG to implement mob power ups based on biome and correct many bugs (see WAIG's Curseforge page for details)
- Added our official server address by default! Come join the fun!
Balance
- Added new Ore Dictionary entries: industrial metals and precious metals. These entries define metals suitable for making casings or objects that require metals of either tough quality or precious quality. Some metals may be part of both entries and additional entries may someday follow
- Added a recipe for Grave Scrolls crafted from 3 death inventory lists; go get your stuff back
- Added multiple reed plants to the stick ore dictionary entry
- Added several more mushrooms to the anyMushroom ore dictionary entry
- Added a custom recipe for turning rotten flesh into leather (original, we know)
- Added all Rustic crops to the Charm composter
- Added recipes for creating grass blocks
- Removed bronze tools from the BAWLS tree (bronze tools for all!)
- Altered recipe for Immersive Engineering blast brick; no more need to visit the nether before tier 3
- Removed brass ingots from GRAYCE (dragons, brass isn't gold so stop hoarding it)
- Reduced the crafting cost of crossbow bolts
- Buckets may now be crafted from any industrial metal
- Reduced the maximum health penalty from death from -15 hp to -10
- Registered almost all food items for reducing death health penalty when eaten
- Reduced armor damage incurred on death from 10% to 5%
- Set hardness of Electroblob's Wizardry's imbuement altar to 5, allowing them to be picked up and moved
- Changed multiple low-tier SKILLZ recipes to utilize tier-appropriate materials
- Continued cleanup of JEI (removing or hiding unnecessary items)
- Disabled Cyclic experience boosting enchantments (too much!)
- Changed several vanilla recipes to use industrial metals in place of iron
- Changed several Chisel 2 blocks to use industrial metals in place of iron
- Changed early game tools to use industrial metals in place of above-tier metals
- Added recipe to smelt Ice and Fire rotten eggs into sulfur powder
- Rebalanced a few SKILLZ item locks to better introduce key concepts within the tree
World Generation
- Enabled villages in all non-mountainous biomes
- Exchanged Worley's Caves for Yung's Better Caves so hopefully your worlds will now have caves in them (new save required)
Monsters and Creatures
- Refactored mob spawning behaviors for overworld biomes (reduced spawn rates)
- Reduced mob aggro radius
- Reduced mob movement speed (whoops)
- Reduced (hopefully) spawn rates of Infernal Mobs' powered up mob types
- Removed several Mowzie's Mobs monsters from spawn engine in favor native spawn distribution methods
- Increased base power and health of Mowzie's Mobs boss monsters

- Eliminated toast notifications from Midnight portal checks (the check works as intended and was captured as an error erroneously)

- Disabled Apotheosis sugar cane growth behavior (caused a duplication bug)
- Removed Dread Steed from spawn engine (had wrong mob enumeration)
- Removed several mobs from spawn engine (due to bad mob enumerations)
- Removed coin drops from passive creatures (no more money chickens)
- Removed trait locks from using Trinkets and Baubles' race-changing items (except rings)
- Removed multimob Test Dummy from spawn
- Removed extra erroneous Biome Guide from starter quests
- Corrected erroneous satrter quest text regarding ores (sorry for the confusion!)
Known Issues
- Roguelike dungeons are (still) not properly spawning in world. We are working on finding a solution to be pushed in a hotfix as soon as possible. Working on it!
