MISSING_TEXTURES v2.0.0
What's new
Changelog v2.0.0
This update ended up being way bigger than I originally planned. I removed a lot of stuff that either wasn't adding much or was causing problems, added a bunch of new content, and reworked progression to make it feel more rewarding overall.
Gameplay & Progression
This is probably the biggest change in the update.
The progression has been reworked quite a bit. You can no longer punch trees from the start, getting to the Nether and especially The End now takes more work, while The Twilight Forest is still mostly unchanged (for now).
Mending has also been completely reworked. Librarians no longer sell the normal Mending book. Instead, you'll need 64 Emeralds and a new item called the Mending Core to unlock the trade.
To support this, I added a small progression line with new custom items:
- Experience Transmitter
- Mending Core
There's a lot more planned for these systems in future updates.
New Content
Added a bunch of new things to discover around the world.
- Treasure Balloons that randomly appear and can be attacked for loot.
- Adventure Dungeons with integrated loot.
- Champions, adding stronger variants of mobs with different tiers.
- Mowzie's Mobs.
- Myths & Legends.
- Paragliders.
- Grappling Hook.
- Nature's Compass.
- Echo Chests.
- More Create structures.
Ancient Cities, Trial Chambers and Woodland Mansions have also been overhauled, and the Wither boss fight has been improved.
World Generation
The world should feel quite a bit more interesting now.
Added:
- Tectonic with Terralith compatibility.
- Galosphere.
- Darker Depths.
- Eternal Nether.
- More structure generation throughout the world.
Combat & Equipment
Combat got a few additions and some balancing.
- Leather and Chainmail armor have been buffed.
- Added Epic Knights.
- Added Combat Roll.
- Added Cosmetic Armor Reworked with Curios compatibility.
- Added Traveler's Tool Belt.
Visuals & Immersion
Probably one of the areas that received the most attention.
Added:
- Blood particles and effects.
- Chat animations.
- Cinematic Zoom.
- Fancy World Animations.
- Damage Indicators.
- Inventory HUD+.
- Better resource pack menu.
- More built-in resource packs.
- Villager Names.
- Traveler's Titles.
- Sleep Tight.
- Lots of new particles, sounds and small visual details across the game.
- The advancements menu has also been overhauled
- Advancement Plaques were replaced with Fancy Toasts
- Gnetum was reconfigured again.
Quality of Life
Added a bunch of smaller improvements that make the game feel nicer overall.
- EMI with several addons.
- Boss Checklist.
- Infinity bows no longer require an arrow.
- Configured Defaults.
- Cut Through.
- Field Guide, which lets you gradually build an encyclopedia of every creature you discover.
- Obscure Tooltips.
- Pickup Notifier.
- Show Your Identity.
- Skin Restorer for offline servers.
- Ksyxis.
- Particle Core for better particle performance.
- Puddles & Floods.
- Clavis, adding lockpicking minigames to loot chests.
Create
A few additions and changes here too.
- Added Create: Transmission.
- Added Create Threaded Trains.
- Added Create: Diesel Generators.
- Removed Create: The Factory Must Grow for now because of stability issues.
Technical Changes
- Switched Block Entities to Better Block Entities.
- Switched Default Configuration to Configured Defaults.
- Removed the Experimental Settings warning.
- Rebalanced how Improved Mobs scales over time.
- Updated and cleaned up lots of configs.
- Removed a ton of mods that were either unnecessary, replaced by something better, or causing issues.
- Removed CBC Advanced for now.
- Removed all loading screens for now.
That's pretty much it, probably I missed something. This update changes a lot of the modpack, and it's also the foundation for a bunch of things I want to add later, especially around progression and custom content.
I really recommend you to install this version as a new installation due to massive changes in the config, world generation, structures, etc.
Enjoy! :3
