The aim of MishMash is to encourage the player to look into alternative ways of playing modded minecraft, mixing up not only underappreciated modern mods, but also beloved old mods that fell out of fashion over time. For example, instead of a minimap, the player can use the Antique Atlas item for guidance around the world. For managing your items, you're encouraged to use Logistics Pipes to manage the inventories of chests or other more traditional storage options (as opposed to the traditional AE or Refined Storage systems).

The pack is in beta. This means no recipes will be changed, however the pack will always let the player decide what mods they want to experiment with. Whether you want to become overpowered fast by using EMC, or just fool around with magic, that will remain the player's decision, without having a certain progression imposed on them. The mod list will also change over time, to test out how they balance each other out.

- Bewitchment (remake/successor of Witchery)

The terrain generator suggested is Open Terrain Generator, with the Dregora, Biome Bundle O Plenty and OTG: Dungeons presets preinstalled.
