Getting Started
I'd personally recommend doing what's in the summary, Break Wood, Dig a hole and hide. If you need something else to do I'd recommend finding some sheep for wool. Even though you can't sleep, you can still set your spawn point by right-clicking your bed thanks to Morpheus.
P.S.
Just because you reach end game doesn't mean it's over, it will be a while before the Vampire King shows himself (basically there's not really a mod i know of that adds a vampire boss, so until then)
