A small modpack for MeuwTwo's community. Attempting to focus on progressing casually as well as community interaction, rather than individual exploration and rushing through mods.
A bunch of mods have been included to improve the aesthetics of the world and of player builds:
- Extra passive, neutral and aggressive mobs with Aquaculture, Alex's Mobs, Ice and Fire and Waddles,
- More interesting terrain and structures with Repurposed Structures, Valhelsia Structures, Biome's O' Plenty, YUNG's Better Caves and BetterEnd
- A huge variety of options for customising player buildings with Engineer's Decor, MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod, Decorative Blocks, Builders Crafts & Additions and Macaw's mods. And if there's still not something that takes your fancy you can make your own details with Chisels & Bits.
- JAMD (Just Another Mining Dimension) is included to provide a mining dimension so that any large-scale mining can be done without making a mess of the landscape of the overworld.
Storage Drawers is the only storage-specific mod included as we wanted to encourage players to start building early on, instead of setting up a huge storage systems with automated resource collection before even starting to do so.
Only a few progression-based mods have been included and automation may be more of a puzzle compared to some modpacks, as most typical item, power and fluid transportation are limited to Immersive Engineering, get creative!
Choosing a main progression mod to focus on is suggested to be one of:
- Astral Sorcery
- Botania
- Ice And Fire
- Immersive Engineering/Petroleum with Industrial Foregoing
- Mana and Artifice (spiritual successor to Ars Magica 2)
- Rats
Though there's nothing stopping you from doing more than one.
More adventurous players also have the Twilight Forest to explore.
Quality of life mods and mods core to the experience that we suggest that everybody uses are:
- Storage Drawers, the storage solution for when chests are not enough
- Tinkers Construct, all the basic tools and weapons and the Smeltery for getting extra ingots from ores
- Traveler's Backpack, backpack for holding more items and fluids on your person along with a crafting table and more (Curios is included so you can wear them on your back !)
- Waystones, the main way to teleport around to different places so long as you've already been there once. Right click any waystones you find in the world to activate them or craft your own. Teleport from Waystone to Waystone or from anywhere with a Warp Scroll or Warp Stone
- Carry On, letting you move blocks (specifically tile entities like machines and chests) and animals around by shift (rebindable) + right clicking with an empty hand
- With an honourable mention to OpenBlocks Elevator for easy building across multiple floors without requiring stairs or ladders.
Simple Voice Chat is included for its proximity voice chat feature since it can get chaotic when a lot of people are trying to talk in the same voice channel on discord. If you decide to set up your own server with this modpack, be aware that you may need to do some port forwarding for Simple Voice Chat to work.
As well as these mods and a few others than haven't been mentioned, a couple of MeuwTwo's favourite mods have been included, these are Pam's HarvestCraft 2 (with Cooking For Blockheads to go alongside it) and Fairy Lights. There are no punishments or extra bonuses for eating or not eating specific foods, it is purely an alternative, aesthetic, option to vanilla food.
