{___DISCLAIMER___}
At the moment, this modpack is in an UNRELEASED PREVIEW state.
If you were sent the link to it, that means I think you're cool and/or would enjoy it.
Issues - Incompatibilities, softlocks, confusing progression, etc. - are expected. Releasing the modpack to a select few NOW is intended to allow other people to get their hands on it so that I can get testing for more than just my own environment/playstyle, to hopefully balance the experience and make it playable for anyone.
{___WHAT TO EXPECT___}
Hi, CF mods! This section is for you! To be clear I actually really appreciate having modpack authors include what to expect in their pack description. I will do my best here, but the pack is currently a pre-release I'm setting up to more easily give to people that want to test it. I have a lot of respect for you guys!
MMRLC overhauls the game in a lot of different ways with the goal of creating a semi-realistic, explorative RPG experience inspired by RLcraft and mods like TerraFirmaCraft.
You cannot punch trees by hand anymore. Rather, you need to gather pebbles and knap them to make flint (rclick with pebbles in main and off hands), then make a hatchet to cut down a tree for logs - Use that hatchet in the crafting grid to make planks, then you can make a crafting table. Knap flint against stone blocks (rclick) to get stone, and knap them together (use JEI's interface for recipes) to make stone tools, or alternatively kill a mob to get bone, and knap it with flint to get bone shards that you can use to craft a bone knife and bone pickaxe.
Cutting down grass with a knife will allot you plant fiber - three in your grid can make basic lashings, a substitute for string in handle recipes. A basic handle is made by right-clicking a stick on a piece of grass in the world - it confused me too, don't worry.
We have a lot more mobs and a lot more food products. Campfires are easier to craft with two logs and two sticks, but require an item to light and have limited fuel.
Dirt huts are no longer possible structures - Soft materials like dirt and gravel are far too unstable to create a proper wall, let alone a roof.
Take care when mining, and make sure to build supports in your tunnels - Otherwise, the rock above you may collapse and bury you alive.
There are a lot of mods, too many for me to go through (and often too many for me to keep track myself), but I hope what I've given so far helps you begin your journey. Survival is a challenge, but one with a hefty reward.
