Matter & Motion
A Create-powered survival world where matter bends to your will, the landscape is worth preserving, and the only limit is how big you dare to build.
Matter & Motion is not about skipping Minecraft. It is about removing the parts that waste your time so the parts that matter can get as big, beautiful, and ridiculous as you want them to be.
ProjectE gives you matter. Create gives you motion. You decide what that becomes.
A cozy mountain workshop? A goliath underground train terminal? A world-spanning rail network? A megastructure that absolutely did not need to exist — but now does?
Good. That is the point.
The World Is Worth Preserving
Terralith and Tectonic completely reshape how the world generates. The result is terrain that is dramatic, vertical, and genuinely worth exploring before you ever place your first machine.
What you will find out there:
- Towering mountain ranges with real vertical relief — cliffs worth building into, not tearing down
- Sweeping open valleys that were practically designed for rail lines
- Underground spaces that go deeper and stranger than vanilla ever managed
- A transformed Nether via Incendium — dangerous, atmospheric, and actually interesting
- A haunting, overhauled End via Nullscape
- Surface life and biome variety from Ecologics that makes the overworld feel populated and alive
The world spans a massive vertical range — plenty of room above and below for builds that have no business fitting into a normal Minecraft world.
The goal is not to strip this landscape for materials. It is to find the place that makes you stop mid-flight and think "I want to build something here" — and then build something unforgettable in it.
Use Nature's Compass to hunt down the exact biome you are looking for. Waystones and TemPad keep you connected across the world once you start spreading out.
Want it to look as good as it plays? Complementary Reimagined shaders run through Iris and look stunning — even at low settings on Steam Deck. Players on beefier hardware can add Distant Horizons or Voxy separately to push terrain view out for hundreds of chunks. In a world this dramatic, seeing more of it matters.
Start Powerful. Still Play the Game.
Matter & Motion gives you real tools from the start. What it does not give you is a finished world.
Move Like You Mean It
Almost from day one, Icarus gives you wings. Not creative flight — real wings with real physics. You glide, climb, and see the world from above in a way creative mode never manages. Hunger still applies. If you have not eaten, you are walking.
Alongside the wings:
- Artifacts — running shoes that let you sprint anywhere without slowing, and bunny hop boots that launch you to heights that probably should not be possible
- Hooked — grappling hooks for traversal and building at elevation. The redstone and diamond variants unlock better range and control and are well worth the upgrade when you get there
Between all three, finding your forever base becomes one of the best parts of early game. The world is enormous. Explore it properly before you commit.
Matter Bends to You
ProjectE and Project Expansion form the transmutation backbone of the pack.
- Most raw resources are transmutable — the endless raw material grind gets solved early
- What is not transmutable are the things that should take effort: processed outputs, specialty items, specific modded products
- Those gaps are where automation earns its place — figure out what you can transmute, then build systems for what you cannot
- ProjectE Mapper helps you track and plan your EMC network as it grows into something genuinely impressive
Gear, Artifacts, and a Light RPG Layer
Beyond the early artifacts, the pack adds a light layer of discovery and progression that rewards exploration without demanding it:
- Relics and Mythical Accessories — discoverable gear and accessories with real effects
- Apothic Attributes — expanded attribute system so gear actually feels different
- Curios with expanded slots — room to actually equip the things you find
None of this is the focus. But it is there, and it makes the world feel like it has stakes beyond just finding the right mountain.
Eat Well. Build More.
Wings need hunger. Long build sessions need stamina. A forever world deserves a proper kitchen.
Kaleidoscope Cookery is in the pack — every addon included:
- Kaleidoscope Cookery — the base system with new ingredients, preparation methods, and recipe chains
- Chinese Food — a full expansion of traditional dishes with its own ingredient set
- Tavern — hearty pub food and proper tavern fare for your great hall
- Nether & End — dimensional ingredients for cooking with things that have no business being edible
- Dimensional Wine — wines and drinks sourced from across dimensions
- Create Winery + Create Gears and Tavern — automate your entire food and drink production through Create belts and processes. Pipe ingredients in, product comes out, the tavern runs itself
Good food gives real buffs, keeps you in the air longer, and keeps you building without stopping. Build a kitchen that looks like a kitchen. Build a tavern. Wire the whole thing into your factory. Live well.
Create Is the Heart
Everything in this pack is built to let Create grow as large as you want it to.
If you have not used Create before: it is a mechanical engineering mod where you build real working factories. Belts, shafts, gears, mixers, presses, fans, deployers, mechanical saws, crushing wheels, contraptions, trains — all connected through rotation and real moving machines. Things physically move. The machines look like machines. And the deeper you go, the more you realize how far it stretches.
The full Create ecosystem ships with the pack:
Core systems
- Create Addition — electric motors and alternators to bridge Create rotation with power
- Create Transmission — extended shafts and gearboxes for moving rotation across serious distances
- Create Connected — extended mechanical block interactions and connections
Production & automation
- Create Enchantment Industry — automate enchanting and disenchanting through your production lines
- Create Ore Excavation — mechanical drilling on Create rotation, for when you need to dig without doing it yourself
- Create Cobblestone — infinite cobblestone and basalt generation so building material is never actually a concern
- Create Ultimate Factory — industrial-scale factory components for the truly unhinged build
- Mechanical Millstone — extended milling and processing options
Aesthetics
- Bells & Whistles and Create Deco give your machines real visual presence — your factory can look like a factory, not just a pile of functional blocks
- Mechanicals adds additional decorative mechanical parts that make builds feel alive
Routing and storage:
- Classic Pipes — item pipes, fluid pipes, and extraction pipes alongside Create's own conveyor belts, chutes, mechanical arms, and funnels to move everything exactly where it needs to go
- Alchemical Chests — bottomless material reservoirs piped directly into your production lines
- Refined Storage + Extra Disks — large-scale digital item management for when the numbers get serious
- Sophisticated Storage + Sophisticated Backpacks — physical tiered storage that looks great and travels with you
The loop is simple: raw matter becomes refined output. Refined output becomes automation. Automation becomes infrastructure. Infrastructure becomes a world.
Build one belt that handles iron so you never think about iron again. Or build a facility where raw materials go in one end and finished products come out the other and everything in between took you three days to design. Both are completely valid. Both are what this pack was made for.
Trains, Terminals, and Things That Should Not Fit
Create's train system is in, working, and built to go serious distances.
- Create Railways Navigator — plan and navigate your network across the entire world
- Train Utilities — signals, tools, and quality-of-life additions that make the system work at real scale
- Bells & Whistles — horns, headlights, and cosmetic details that make your locomotives feel real
Build rail networks that connect everything. Run lines through mountains, under rivers, and across open plains. Design stations that look like actual stations — platforms, lighting, waiting areas, underground halls with vaulted ceilings that go as high as you want them to.
Create's mechanical systems are not capped at sensible sizes here. Elevator pulleys travel enormous vertical distances. Chain conveyors and contraptions span distances that should be unreasonable. If you want a monumental underground terminal with multiple platform lines and a locomotive pulling in from three hundred blocks away — you have the room, the vertical space, and the mods to build it.
Build the terminal. Connect it to the next thing. Connect that to the next thing. Until the whole world starts to feel like one giant machine.
Build Without Limits
Matter & Motion takes building seriously at every level — not just the machines, but the act of building itself.
Work Smarter, Not Longer
These are not cheat tools. They are what building at this scale actually requires:
- FTB Ultimine — vein mine entire ore deposits or clear whole tree lines in a single action
- Tree Chop — chop the base of a tree, the whole thing comes down
- Effortless Building — mirror, array, and place blocks in patterns at speed. Symmetrical megastructures in a fraction of the normal time
- Create Fast Schematic Cannon — deploy Create schematics quickly for large repetitive structures
Build Anything You Can Imagine
The visual possibilities in Matter & Motion are genuinely limitless — and that is not an exaggeration.
Framed Blocks lets you apply any texture to any block shape, including emissive glowing variants. Copycats+ does the same for Create's copycat panels and slopes, which work inside moving contraptions. Together these two mods alone open up texture and shape combinations that vanilla blocks simply cannot produce.
From there:
- Chipped + Rechiseled + Rechiseled Chipped — hundreds of variants of every vanilla material. Never settle for a flat stone brick wall again
- Connected Glass — glass panes that connect seamlessly across large windows
- Fusion — connected textures on stone and brick surfaces
- Quark — dozens of vanilla-style additions that feel like they were always supposed to be in the game
For architecture specifically:
- The full Macaw's suite — custom doors, windows, trapdoors, lights, roofs, bridges, stairs, and fences. Real architectural options, not compromises
- Dramatic Doors — oversized double doors that actually feel grand
- Secret Doors — hidden passages built into your walls
Make Every Space Feel Real
Big builds are great. Empty big builds are sad.
Decocraft, Immersive Furniture, and Design n Decor give you the furniture and props to make rooms feel genuinely inhabited:
- Workshops that look like workshops
- Kitchens with real kitchen things in them
- Train terminals with benches, waiting areas, offices, and clutter that makes them feel used
Supplementaries and Amendments handle the smaller details — signs, ropes, sconces, shelves, floral arrangements, and dozens of small additions that turn a good build into a great one.
BuildPaste is for solo players who want the world around their builds to feel alive. Paste pre-built community structures anywhere — populate a town center around your station, add background buildings to your mountain fortress, give your world a sense of scale without hand-placing every background detail. Freedom is the core of this pack, and that extends to how full your world feels.
Bring Your Best Friend
Doggy Talents Next with Palette of Paws turns your dog from a fragile vanilla pet into a real companion that grows alongside your world.
Here is what your dog actually becomes:
- A leveling companion that gets genuinely stronger the more time you spend together — not cosmetically, but in how they fight, protect, and assist
- Fully customizable through Palette of Paws — coat colors, patterns, and looks that make your dog actually look like your dog
- A real protector in combat at higher levels — a leveled dog is backup, not decoration
- A respawning companion — give them a bed and losing them to a creeper is a bad moment, not a permanent loss
- A trick-learning, command-following partner that feels like a real relationship rather than a pet that just exists
Your dog comes with you everywhere. Through trains, across mountain ranges, into every ridiculous megastructure you put them in the middle of. Name them. Level them. Build them a home inside your base.
They deserve to be there for all of it.
The Small Things That Add Up
A hundred hours in a modpack means quality-of-life details matter more than you think.
A few worth knowing:
- Jade — look at anything and instantly see what it is, what it contains, and how it is working. Essential in a pack this big
- Comforts — sleeping bags let you skip the night anywhere without resetting your spawn
- Lootr — every dungeon chest is personal loot. No racing friends to containers
- Easy Magic, Easy Anvils, and Tax Free Levels — enchanting that does not punish you for playing the game
- Waystones — fast travel points you place yourself, so the enormous world never becomes a traversal problem
And yes — My Lucky Block is in there. Lightweight, fun, and genuinely surprising when you need a break from factory planning. With ProjectE in the mix, the drops hit a little differently.
Performance
Tested and played on Steam Deck. If your hardware is better — and it probably is — you are in a solid position.
The optimization stack is substantial and built in from day one:
- Sodium + ImmediatelyFast + FerriteCore + ModernFix handle the heavy lifting
- Entity Culling, More Culling, and Dynamic FPS reduce load where it matters most
- Noisium speeds up world generation so exploring the huge terrain does not stall your game
- Shader support through Iris — Complementary Reimagined looks beautiful at low settings on Steam Deck, push further if your machine can take it
The work has been done so you do not have to think about it.
Transmute the matter. Set it in motion. Build forever.
