This modpack is an edited version of SHXRKIE's Medieval Minecraft [FABRIC]
Goals of this edited version are as follows:
1) Preserve the RPG/Adventure feeling of the original but with extra focus on making sure the mods included are not conflicting in any way with each other.
2) Eliminate all the magic mana based mods.
3) Streamline the progression of a player by eliminating large mods, like Bewitchment, which provide tons of additional goals to pursue.
4) Delete some mods which add tons of new weaponry and armor pieces. Too many of them are competing witth each other, each trying to achieve the same goal.
It contains no texture packs, as Excalibur does not support all the new items and blocks added by other mods.
Mods removed from Medieval Minecraft [FABRIC] :
- Bewitchment and all of its submods (Point 3)
- Infusion Table (Point 1. All it provides is already possible with Apotheosis mod)
- All MC Dungeons mods (Point 3, 4. Deleted for sake of clarity of recipes. Found it overwhelming and too disruptive to the original Minecraft experience)
- Forgotten Recipes (Point 1. Conflicting with Fleshz way of acquiring leather from rotten flesh)
- Archon (Point 2)
- Arcanus (Point 2)
- Dark Enchanting (Point 1. Eliminates majority of reasons to use anything provided by Apotheosis mod)
- EnvironmentZ (Point 1. Too many new armor pieces cannot be warmed)
- Mob Origins (Point 3)
- Mythic Metals and Mythic Metals Decorations (Point 4)
- Zoomify (Point 1. Competing for contested key binds. Defeting the reason of items that add zoom)
- Earthbounds (Point 1. Damage to Rubro can act inaccurately with Medieval weapons)
- Probably Chests (Point 1. Feels like a too much of a lottery, can contain diamonds, even above ground. At the same time, players who are not too good at combat are getting overrun by it)
Mods Added:
- Comforts
- Bundles Unlocked (Readding bundles from removal of Forgotten Recipes)
- Basic Shields
This modpack by no means tries to be "better" than SHXRKIE's Medieval Minecraft [Fabric]. It is a fantastic modpack which is a reason why I came back to play Minecraft after a huge break.
It is everyone who has soft spot for very tight mod compatibility but still loves SHXRKIE's Medieval Minecraft.
Known issues:
- 2 Overlaying minimaps, the top one can be disabled in FTB Chunks options menu, accessed by inventory, top left corner, then bottom left to find the gear icon. Set Enabled to False under "Minimap" section.
